Drag Teo down? He marketed himself as a monster and a destroyer. Said he bet on himself to KO Lomachenko under 3. Father said they would brutally destroy Lomachenko in under 5 and send him to the hospital.

Because Lomachenko was the much smaller man, is basically a light puncher, and both Lopezes promised to not just beat him, but destroy him. The performance simply did not match the promises and tough talk. Not by a long shot.

I would call it a fail if Pac had 10-15 pounds on an opponent, a 10 year age advantage, a huge power differential, and didn't go for the kill when the guy barely threw punches. And let's not pretend you wouldn't either.

Nah i wouldnt. Because being in the ring with a slick and superb boxer such as Lomanchenko, im sure would make any fighter a lil reluctant. There was nothing dissapointing about Lopez performance. And besides boxing is a skilled sport this isnt no toughman contest where you go balls to the wall and try to knock out your opponent with hayemakers.

You know it's ok to say that it was a crappy match entertainment wise. Literally the only exciting thing was that the great Loma lost.

Honestly its not really about going for the kill, its leaving no room for doubt.

We have all seen fighters win more dominantly and lose on the cards.

Fury vs Wilder I is an example

Teo thought he could just coast and get the W, turns out he was right but its a dangerous way to be.

Actually quite silly, unless he just didn't have any more to give

Not when your opponent is tiny in comparison. Like if 135 Pac (Diaz) fought Rigondeaux and didn't destroy him. Complete utter fail if no KO.

Boxing is a fight game? Damn thanks for the info, why did someone not tell me this over 40yrs ago, i wondered why my opponents kept hitting me;)

Neither you or i are 4 belt champions, Lopez is, he has the titles, the wealth and his name will be indelibly printed in the annals of boxing history, all that and he did not need to go to 'war', sounds like a good nights work to me, only real injury he sustained was from Lomas head.

It is up to the opponent to make a fighter step outside their agreed fight plan, the supposed best p4p boxer was unable to do that to Lopez. We all know it only takes one lucky punch to change the outcome of a bout, if the fight plan agreed with your team prefight is working and you are winning, then your titles, wealth and bragging rights remain intact .

I was impressed by the performance of Lopez, and am not going to pick fault with a boxer who wins all the belts by age of 23.

You were so disappointed in Lopez since he didn't go for the kill as you predicted? BS! Loma is in the Top 5 P4P list in the world. Do you think it's gonna be easy to K.O. him? huh?

Lopez is not aggressive unless he has no respect for the opponent or the opponent is almost out. He has become one of the purest counter punchers at the top level.

He will, in his career, face many accusations of being boring.

Lopez fought a good fight. I never thought he was gonna win a decision, I thought he'd have to go Jeff Horn style but he did what he needed to do. As the saying goes, just win the fight tonight, look good in the next one.
