Kind of bummed that the original fight fell through but Lipinets is the type of guy that looks great regardless of opponent. The guy has become one of my favorite fighters over the last few years and I was curious how the rest of you see him stacking up against the best at 147. I see him clearly being a notch below Spence and Crawford but I think he would be hell for quite a few dudes. Thoughts?
He's part of the rank 8-20/25 WWs who keep seeming like they deserve a title shot but can never get past the rank 4-7 fighters. Ugas has been killing them all. Out of that group I like Jamal James, just on a fan level. I was thinking Pac would be set up with a winnable mandatory out of this group but that doesn't look like the plan anymore.
I rewatched his fight with mikey last night, that was a great effort. It was not an easy fight, mikey took some huge shots. Lipinets has had a hell of a career for a guy that was a kickboxer and decided late in life to just box instead.
Lipinets is a savage always love watching him fight I think the first time I saw him was against Lenny Z and that was a hell of a fight.
Clayton has some good skills, sort of reminds me of a young James Page, frame wise. His style is going to pose problems for lipinits and i wouldnt be surprised if he pulled the upset.
I haven't seen him fight yet but have read quite a bit about Clayton over the last few years. He's a dangerous opponent especially considering the short notice to fight him. I'm really looking forward to this fight.
