Hearn did an interview on IFL (went up today) anyway, he speaks on this Jenkins Benn stuff a little bit and basically says.. "We made offers, they were really good offers, they were turned down, Jenkins was happy but they wasn't (Queensbury), we spoke to Queensbury and told them we are taking another fight.. blah blah blah " Kugan didn't challenge him on it, Kugan didn't ask the right questions or any questions really, because in my opinion what Hearn said just didn't make sense. Hearn is saying he made offers to Jenkins, they were turned down, Benn and Hearn wanted the British title fight, so they waited until purse bids are called and then pull out and go a different way.. why pull out the purse bid? Because if Jenkins Team didn't accept the result of the purse bid, they would have to pull out and Benn gets a shot at the British title anyway? It just doesn't make any sense, I can only assume they didn't fancy the fight, or they didn't have the money for the purse bid after paying for Fight Camp and other fights they are putting on over the next couple of months, saturdays card, the Katie Taylor card.. and they just didn't want to lose Benn Vs Jenkins to FW and BT? I don't know, it could be that simple, they just don't have the money or don't want to spend that money with everything that's gone on and Hearn might not want to say that out loud. DAZN is struggling, Sky Sports are not going out of their way to get good fights on their platform, like Lopez Vs Loma this weekend, maybe they are all feeling the pinch and don't want their fighter on another platform. I have to be fair and say that, it could be money but it still has to be called a duck because they are not saying anything really.
It's obvious Benn's handlers didn't fancy it. This Formella fight is all about the fact he's been in with Porter. It's a selling point for casuals and US TV in the hope of getting him a world title shot. Looks like Frank and Eddie had a silent agreement on this one as Frank gets the in-house British title fight.
I agree with you but a world title shot is years and years off, if that ever comes.. Can you imagine sticking Benn in with a Spence or Crawford it would be murder. I think Hearn will just bounce him around, European fighters, old faded "names" way past any best and then maybe try and make Josh Kelly Vs Benn in a PPV and get Benn and Kelly a big payday. Then try and get the winner a shot at something, hoping Spence, Crawford, Thurman and other have gone away and the loser will get the old Matchroom Rebuild.
I might be getting carried away but I'm convinced there going to try and throw him in Yarde v Kovalev style. I can't see where his career goes domestically he gets beat by nearly all the top 10 British and a few outside it also.

Lol never seen a fighter be so quick to announce he was vacating after a BBBOC notice haha. Richards definitely knows Hutchinson would give him a beating!
Tyan Booth claimed Coldwell used to jump on the floor as a boxer. 2 Coldwell boxers pull out of British title fights. Is Penfold a man or a mouse?
