Activity means nothing. One has to actually land clean punches. This is why so many had Jermall as the clear winner vs SD, just because Jermall was active. Even tho he wasn´t landing much at all.
Marquez has had some baffling cards in the past. He's a legend in the sport but his scoring of matches is highly questionable. It's pretty much been established that the best Loma could argue is a draw or maybe 7-5 Loma if you give him like every remotely close round. Marquez goes one further and has Loma winning 8 rounds to 4 lol. How? That's mad scoring.
I actually had him winning 2, 6, 7, 8 9, 10, 11 although 6 could’ve been a draw Teo made it close at the end of the round
To be generous. I could see a draw on one score card. But the other 2, it's 8-4 score in favor of Lopez. Loma left it too late. No way all three judges saw Loma deserve a win. No bloody way!!
Every time we have a pound for pounder lose on here we have to sit through this **** for 2 weeks. A Lopez card is reasonable. There is nothing wrong with it. Most people who had something else had a draw or 7-5. What that means to a normal human is that if you're fallible enough to be arguably wrong about two rounds, a Lopez card is still reasonable. People genuinely believe themselves so good at scoring fights. Then they appeal to this weird authority that makes their card more appreciable - "I scored it with the sound off." Great, you scored it without being able to hear the punches going in, that's a **** card then. "I scored it at half speed." Great, you scored it in the most unnatural way possible, distancing yourself from real world judging as much as possible. Is that supposed to prove you right? "This famous fighter scored it a certain way." So what? Fighters tend to be atrocious at scoring fights because they favour the methods they themselves employed in their careers. Marquez favours a fighter who uses angle to build an exciting power-boxing base? I am over-****ing-whelmed. No offence to the OP who might just have been bringing us a bit of news, but it's all such bollocks. Loma lost, fair and square, regardless of what your card said, it doesn't matter what your card said.
Every close round lmao.. Youre deluded... Rounds 2 to 6 were pretty close but Loma landed better cleaner and more shots in rounds 2 4 6 then Lopez... Who may have been active rthrowing punches to the air, elbows and arms but certainly not actual scoring punches. You don't score for ineffective aggression and being unable to cut the ring off
So a guy who spent his career fighting reactionary and didn't know how to take the lead scores rounds for a fighter who ran away like a scared girl? Shocking.
