    COLIN HART
Boxing’s new super-cruiserweight division is ‘sensible’ move that will allow mouthwatering fights like Usyk vs Wilder.
This is the opinion of boxing journalist Colin Hart, is he right? Who would win in a bout between Wilder and Usyk at this new weight, and could the winner fight the winner of AJ v Fury?

I agree with Hart. There are very few natural CWs that can beat the best super HWs consistently. Who's done it lately?

Someone that was boiling down to make CW and is a natural SCW or Tigerweight might be able to compete w/the best of the super HWs.
And there's many more interesting fights at Tiger besides Usyk v Wilder.

Why is he talking about Wilder vs Usyk? Usyk was 215 lbs for his heavyweight debut.
Wilder was 219 for the Ortiz rematch and 212 for the first Fury fight.
231 is Wilder´s career high weight. Most of his career he has been around 220 and 225.

I read this today, and when i got to the part where Bellew is being touted as something associated with it, i slung it in the bin.

They won’t be allowed to be heavier than 16st. The new weight limit will be 224lbs.

He`s angling for a comeback fight for a title.

Wilder, Hunter, Usyk, and even Povetkin minus a couple of pounds could all have a shot at this. Bellew should stay retired.

Annnd... they will just move up to the glory division for paydays, just like they do now, and we will have the same exact scenario we have today, except with the baggage of even more weightclasses.

Out of all the things hurting boxing... the change they decide to make is... more divisions. Shocker.

Creating more weight divisions in boxing isnt the answer.

We need fewer divisions and one title per division.

The super freakishly tall also have disadvantages in terms of agility, speed and movement. So I think it evens itself up. Just because we have not had a super talented smaller HW be a dominant champion for sometime over the freakishly tall- doesnt mean we wont get another one soon.

I think everyone knows the gap between LHW and cruiser is silly. And everyone knows the disparity in size at HW now is silly.
    It should definitely be fixed.
I would shift all the divisions up to account for the increase in body size and cut some of the bottom off. Those midget people will just have to bulk up to make whatever is available. They're not important anyway.

    I agree with this move.

I think some of the small divisions could be amalgamated, to make for fewer divisions but this addition is oK by me.

The people who are natural 210 pounders will be in the new division, wilder, usyk, hunter and povetkin will never fight there because the big money is in the heavyweight division.

    I don't think it's a good move at all.
There simply isn't the talent to fill out a 224 division and a 224+ division separately.

It makes far more sense to bring back a 190 limit, and then if they wanted to raise the 200 division to 205 or 210, that would be reasonable

    So, something like :
    175 LHW
    190 CW
    205 or 210 "Super cruiser"
    Heavyweight (over 205 or 210).

Colin Hart is full of ****. We don’t need a super cruiserweight division.
