The punch to look out for from Davis could be the nasty left uppercut he dropped Gamboa with. Pressure fighters like Leo often run into uppercuts.
Very little interest or buzz for this fight. It will have an even smaller viewing audience cause its PPV. The only thing I’m hopping for is a Leo upset. No one is getting excited if Davis win, he is expected to win this. But it’s another smaller guy he is pulling up for a fight.
the low rent version of pryor-arguello. i like the way leo is looking, hes looking yoked at this weight. in a good way, like a fighter at peak weight. maybe he was draining too much at the lower weights, like bud was. his team is saying his new found power is going to surprise people, so maybe hes at his right weight now. looking forward to see what effect his punches have on tank.
Since I picked Leo when the match was announced, yeah, I'm excited. I don't think Tank hits quite as hard as people think he does, and as we've seen with the Pedraza and even occasionally in the Gamboa fight, he freezes up and looks like a lost puppy dog when his opponent lands in combination on him, if there's anything Leo does well... it's landing in combination constantly, as in from beginning to end non-stop. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think he's going to be quite as active because he'll fear what's coming back at him, but Leo showed he's quite adept at making adjustments, remember the brilliant back foot counter punching display he put on against Carl Frampton in the rematch? So the idea that he beat Tank if can keep hi. at the end of his jab and tee off on him in combination while constantly on the move, it's not out of the question. I think Leo, who is yes... the smarter boxer, is going to adjust on the fly, maybe several times during the match, and do just enough to get the job done. So unlike most, I think it'll be at the very least, it'll be quite competitive, and if I'm unsure of an outcome, it makes me interested to see it. By the way, the thread title could use a little reworking. It's causing me agita. What? Is no one excited for Davis vs Santa Cruz? Would roll off the tongue far more easily.
Think it will be a good one. Rate davis highly but you can easily see it all going wrong for him at some point. Been a lot of worrying moments so far from him. People need to remember hes still only 25 tho. Reckon hes been brought on perfectly so far. Not exactly fan friendly take on anyone anywhere but davis would have been beaten by now if they took on all real challenges. Their right in bringing him on slowlish. Looks like he,ll come apart at some point but you can defo see potential to maybe actually be better as the competition goes up. Think the top guys his own weight will have too much fitness/sharpness for him...but hes a bit different like broner was...reckon he,ll be better than broner tho.
Can't count Leo out. But if Davis takes him easily, then I think Davis is on his way. He needs to have the right guys around him to take him to the next level and keep him there. Drop the guys that wear fur coats, no shirt and pressed out hairdos. That's a terrible look. I am bald, so I may be jealous!
Not really. Mainly due to me seeing it as (and perhaps Im completely wrong) a cherry pick mismatch. LSC wouldn't make my top 6 opponents Id like to see Tank fight and is imo relatively irrelevant. But I could be completely wrong. Guess we'll see.
Why is he irrelevant? He's lost once and avenged that loss. Davis just pounded on a one legged shot to bits gimp version of Gamboa for 12 rounds, and looked like absolute hell. How is Davis at this point relevant either?
Lsc has beaten every guy hes ever fought and is looking in phenomenal shape. This is going to be a good one.
