Ok rummy. Question. What is your take on the WBC franchise belt? Knowing what we know about the other organizations like the WBA FOR example is the title Haney has considered the regular WBC, and would you consider the Franchise some sort of Super WBC belt , BUT. Not in those words? I mean Haney was elevated from interim to WBC champion. But is the Franchise belt legitimate in your eyes.
I think I'm actually going to dedicate my next video to this topic, and was tempted to do that before this one, actually. The short answer is I think it sucks out loud! And I honestly question whether the WBC and WBA should even still be viewed as "major" championships.
I think it was an unnecessary belt to be made. I mean what does it even mean if most people dont even consider it to be a legitimate piece of hardware in Lopez' possession. I mean the belt Haney has, at least to me is more of an interim belt rather than a full WBC Title belt. But to many haney has that last key to undisputed for Lopez and i think that its crazy to think so. For me Lopez is undisputed.
Great video as always, which is why I subbed. Question though, you don't think this fight was also for the lineal belt?
The light weight division is getting stacked with talent. Who do you see coming out on top at the end: Lopez, Loma, Haney, Davis, Santa Cruz....Shakur Stevenson?
Not a fan of Lomachenko (specifically because of his attitude and his comments after GGG Canelo fight which basically backfired), but this was a close fight and a draw would be fair, but judges scores and Lopes refusing so far for rematch kinda stinks, leaving the feeling that Lopes is not sure if he can pull another fight like this with stacked judges in his favour. Lomachenko’s team not including the rematch clause is very surprising, unlike Arums shitty stunts (not the first and definitely not the last).
Lopez stated that he had to extend his contract, was told he wouldn't get a rematch and had his next fight set up as if he would lose. Arum said no rematch. So **** it. The right man won. Lopez can move on. And Loma can thank Arum for not getting a rematch.
