Eddie might be interested. A.J and Usyk might easily make 224 lbs limit.
No Fury and Ruiz here, then also 0 these large elephants that now are 255-275 lbs.

Naseem Hamed with a good bit of weight cutting might make the limit.

    Using your reasoning.
Decades ago did you want CW to fail badly b/c it was going to remove a lot of talent from LtHW & HW?
More than a century ago would you have wanted LtHW to fail badly b/c it was going to remove a lot of talent from MW & HW?

There are many more people in the world now than 50 & 100 years ago. The talent pool significantly improved when the end of the Soviet Union opened up most of Eastern Europe. Look how many top fighters have come from that region. Not only are there many more big men to choose from, the best are better athletes than the big men from 50, 100 years ago.

Does Primo Carnera have a chance vs. Wlad, AJ? All three about the same size.

Moving cruiser to 200 basically killed the heavyweight division. If this happens I will refuse to watch anything over 175 there will cease to be professional heavyweight boxing at that point imo just a bunch of talentless fatasses trying to out cardio each other

We know the ratings organizations. Breidis has been talking about moving to heavy, and give up the belt, in which case he can fight under whatever banner he chooses, as long as he pays the sanctioning fees.

So probably a stupid question but could you fight in a weight class if you weighed under the division parameters? Never seen it happen for obvious reasons but if someone at 215 thought he could compete at the new over 225 weight class would anything really stop them from doing so?

Povetkin isn't dominating anything at 41 y/o. He's on his last legs and even if he manages to repeat the trick against Whyte in the rematch he's going to be tasting another loss very soon after because he's declining from fight to fight.

Bellew has retired and haven't heard any talk from him of wanting to or planning to come back.

Briedis vs Gassiev is a mouthwatering proposition as is Hunter against either of those two and I think the one who comes out on top from this group would be the dominant force.

I don't want any fighter to dominate any weight class. I want to see close competitive fights. I may root for one fighter over the other on the given night but that's about it. I usually root for the underdog, especially if the " A " side uses his position to dictate things such as glove type, ring size, ring mat, referee, judges, rehydration weight etc. I like to see fighters challenge themselves and strive for greatness. Don't care for another weight class, I'd rather they reorganize the current weight classes and maybe penalize for blatant holding / clinching.

    Clinch is part of boxing.
I guess Okolie might be happy if long holding might be penalised? he even is called Octopus.
Povetkin in forums had been considered as over the hill even 5 years ago.
Of course he still might be very dangerous IF he landed properly. Biggest question IF.
Gassiev had long incativitiy period, not easy to guess shape he does have now. He also currently does not have belts ( today ).
Pros for him is that he is younger than these Usyk, Briedis etc. He does have time, he is still young.

And do you enjoy watching clinching? Incidental clinching is part of the game, Tying up after getting stunned is part of the game....jab and grab is exploiting the rules. Repetitively initiating a clinch without even throwing a punch should be penalized. This is not a display of skill as far as I'm concerned. Is there a reason to lean your chest on the back of an opponent in a clinch other than to use your weight to tire him out? You might as well watch a strong man competition to see who can hold a 300lb squat the longest. I've seen intentional clinching be deducted points in the past, it's just not called enough for me.

In boxing? Sometimes yes because clinch game too requires skills. It just looks simple, it isn't simple game.
Of course Octopus is too much:ohno. Others usually is bearable to watch.

As a Wlad Klitschko fan I think that clinching is awesome. Sometimes I wish the fighters would clinch more.
