Also, I think they are using this show as a barometer . They must know it won't do particularly good numbers but they know every mug who buys it is guaranteed to be among the larger group of mugs who will buy Povetin-Whyte 2 three weeks later, so it gives them a minimum base to ratchet the marketing up off. Then, more again will buy the AJ-Pulev go. I just hope this one does way worse than they expect though, as bad as it deserves to do, and makes them think twice about such a greedy outlook that tries to sell second rate heavyweight fights as £20 PPVs.
Such a shame that this is on PPV because it's a legitimately fascinating main event, if Usyk breezes through Chisora like many expect then he'll be instantly seen as a threat to AJ and Fury but if he struggles or looks underwhelming like against Witherspoon he may have to take a few more fights against the non elite of the division - Wilder, Ruiz, Povetkin, Whyte etc. I'll be tuning in via the wireless and DL'ing the fight on Sunday morning, never in a million ****ing years is this worth £20.
I fancy Chisora to do the job. Think he will “Carlos Takam” him. Just check boxrec and Chisora is in the top 10 Actually quite interested in this one, love a Chisora Fight. Think Usyk is just to small, maybe he will get through Chisora but not the biggest boys.
Just heard David Haye on the Costello and Bunce podcast. The man is a world class talker. He actually came out with the 'you'll see a new Derek Chisora' line. It's radio so there's no way to know if he was on the floor rolling around with silent laughter as of course I was. Anyway, cap doffed to Haye. By the time he'd finished spinning yarns I was a dazed wreck of a person. Slowly nodding my head and thinking 'yes' after Derek KO's Usyk of course he'll be the third best HW on the planet and ready to take on Fury and AJ....
Chisora 3.0! Haye should be a front for a promotional company. The man can talk up a fight better than Hearn.
Haye is honestly the most deluded bitter ex boxer out there. Truly just wants to be centre of attention all the time. WAR Chisora is gonna get schooled and exposed as a gatekeeper boxer that he is. Will be an interesting fight at times but will be frustrating night for plodder Chisora. Love to see Hayes excuses after...he’s getting more annoying the longer he stays involved in boxing. Yep u guessed I don’t like him!
Embarrassing seeing Haye cosy up to Bellew thesedays. Vomit inducing behaviour from the both of them.
Chisora might win .... but so what ? If he does, it'll say more about Usyk's limits than a revelation of a "new" Chisora. We all know Chisora's level. Don't get me wrong, I'll give Chisora credit and it'll be an excellent win because people are making him underdog, but it will hardly change his position in the pecking order of real heavyweights.
All this new technology and sad times that many boxing fans are listening to the fights on the radio. Big party down the river on Saturday if you are stuck mate.
