Presumably it generates more from international sales that way and they calculate they don't lose too many UK subs from the late start. Taking the **** frankly.
Very good chance that all pubs will be closed during another lockdown the way these cases are rising very quickly now. The Sky domination over sport looks well and truly over now that they have lost much of their previous offering to BT Sports, Premier Sports and Amazon Prime including football, rugby, tennis, boxing, cricket, snooker and MMA. With the recent uproar with Football PPV, it looks like Sky haven't a clue about their entire sports strategy and totally out of touch with the upcoming economic issues about to hit the customer base very hard.
What time is Usyk vs Chisora? Would be good if it’s a 9pm main event. Wouldn’t pay for the PPV but would quite like to see it. Shame if it’s post pub curfew.
I've lost track of everything, I'm a Friday night fight, Football at 3pm on a Saturday, MOTD at 10.30pm, Football Italia on a Sunday afternoon kind of guy, all these subscriptions, channels, apps, I'm lost.
Sky are bigger mugs than those paying for pay per puddings like whyte vs pov and chisora vs usyk. Even Ray charles could have seen the move Eddie is playing from a mile away.
From Adam Smiths comments yesterday seems Sky will try and work with dazn rather than compete against them. Can’t compete against a global output. AJ vs Pulev is on in 200 countries no other boxing network can provide that to promoters and fighters. I think you will find Sky and DAZN will come to some kind of agreement where DAZN is available through Sky in return for Matchroom giving them 4 PPVs a year.
Also think you will find WBSS will end up on DAZN UK and wouldn’t be surprised to see Matchroom launch more content driven shows perhaps on Dazn like their version of the ultimate fighter. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see prizefighter relaunched as gives fight nights without having to sign fighters
Don't see this being good, there's no way it's staying that price, and all this means are sky's content will be even worse now.
