Would Mike Tyson have been able to take Povetkin's power shots without getting knocked out?

For U.S boxing fans bad era and weak divisions are when they doesn't see champs from U.S in these.
How weak CW division " appeared " for some fans in forums when The KO Doctor defeated Tabiti.
Every division and era is " weak " if they do not have champ from U.S. Of course.

It is normal, boxing fans love to see champ from their country, otherwise it is bad era, weak division etc.

Then let's go further. Good era then was in 70 ies for HW division, when all 5 most notable boxers in this decade were from U.S.
Other decades later not good, weak eras etc.
Especially weak era since 90 ies etc.

It is completely normal, it is not boxing, it is psychology.

Tyson had a better then average chin, he took some hellacious shots from Buster before finally succumbing. He took Ruddocks bombs and the occasional good shot here and there when he did get hit cleanly....People forget that early Tyson was very good with avoiding shots. So I can easily envision him taking Povetkins shots.

I do know, I already had posted here that 1988th Tyson looks not easy to hit proplerly this Tyson version.;)
Still if 41.yo old Povetkin still was capable KO Whyte, a ~250lbs boxer with 1 single punch. Difficult to dream that Prime Povetkin did not beated less hard. Probably harder than when he was 34 and later.
Also Povetkin had KOed some other pretty large boxers >245 lbs.

Of course Povetkin is undervalued, maybe because he was not able to defeat Prime Klitschko but this was larger, smart, heavier and with better reach than Povetkin. Povetkin still went full distance and lost only by decision.

Ohh, and still Povetkin was not good?

Povetkin was undefeated before he had fight vs Prime Klitschko. He lost by decision.
Then Povetkin finished in distance : Charr, Takam, Perez, Wach and Duhaupas.
Ohh, 2017 th. Rudenko went full distance vs Povetkin and lost by decision.
Then Povetkin appeared enough safe for A.J to fight with:D? Enough slow and enough old Povetkin.
    Earlier was not suitable?

What Euro fighters in the 70's do Americans overlook? Or in the 80's? Or the 90's for that matter?

The 80's era was considered somewhat weak. Yet it had American world champs. So not sure where you are going with that comment. IMO, that weakness was more so an after effect of Ali's retiring, and interest waning a tad in the HW Division. A lot of people just didn't like Holmes.

In the 90's, we had Oleg Maskaev, but he only came on near the end of the decade. Frans Botha was somewhat highly regarded, had some popularity here in the states as well. There was also Axel Schultz as well. Many feel he did get jobbed versus Foreman though. Who else was there that Americans over look?

Please, stop the constant crying already. You’re just using boxing to deal with your insecurities, and it’s becoming really boring. Nobody wants to deal with your inferiority complex in every thread you participate in.

I think you are crying already.

Why? How personal insecurities might be solved in boxing forum.

Regards euro level in boxing, there will be nice examples to cry about. Instead insisting about insecurities etc here.

Joe Louis's era was crap and that has one of the ATG HW champs apparently.

I don't think it was TOO terrible. But after the K bros, the level of talent really dropped off. Seemed like mostly a few overachievers and some underachievers. K bros were the only ones consistent for the most part.

It was the challengers that summed it up for me
As you say the Bros was good, but people that got shots wouldn't get a sniff these days

(maybe Fury would give them a shot tho lol?)
