No I don’t think Marciano is the number one Head to Head heavyweight. I believe all great fighters, on their best night, will be difficult to beat because I am not a fan of blow outs over any great fighters. Just because I can demonstrate why I think it is difficult to blow out a great fighter on his best night does not mean I think the guy I defend against blowouts is the one I think cannot be beat. But you know this.

The best head to head champion would be a longer armed fighter, good over 15 rounds, with top durability and excellent ring craft. And while he would be favoured over more champions, it certainly would not mean such a champion would win every time or time after time either.

Excellent post!... So we're in agreement that Sonny Liston is the #1 H2H fighter of all time?

    This thread make no sense.

No one would he have beaten every single Heavyweight before or after him. People lose. The one's who don't seldom fight the best that they could have when their competition was at their best.

If someone took the time to search through all the necessary threads, there are at least 3 people on this site who somehow cannot bring themselves to admit that he may lose.

No matter who the opponent is, these 3 always pick Rocky to be victorious.

It is very odd that 2 of them have avoided voting.

Both are very long standing members.
Both have a dislike or fear of both Liston & Foreman.

Rock's record speaks for itself, nobody will ever beat ROCKY MARCIANO, I TOO maligned him and said he could not beat modern day fighter's WE will never know either way, He's in the top of alltime, because he earned it, Beat 6 Number # 1 contenders, how many did Ali beat? I do not think Tyson beat any!!! Frazier defeated a WBA Champion Jimmy Ellis, And Muhammad Ali other than that he never beat another #1 ranked opponent either.

If anyone else was 49-0 and 43 Knockouts, I doubt they would have had the disrespect Marciano gets,
Okay he was 185 lbs soaking wet, with a 67 inch reach, I've never seen the greatest Muhammad Ali hurt more than from one London Left hook from another 185 pounder Henry Cooper!

I would love to see what it would look like to just view a picture of Marciano and Fury standing next to each other.

Since his time he may have been... Liston was too slow, ali hit like a girl, holmes defense suspect not much power, tyson had limited heart, holyfield has no great ability and the rest arent worth mentioning except fury but the jury is still out on him.. Fury might be pretty darn good

Interesting - A closed question, laced with completely imperceptible difficulty.

Aren't you the guy who has Dempsey as No. 1?
Marciano the best since his time?
I see a pattern forming here.........
