Usyk easily beAt chisora but the power going to heavyweight. Just isn’t there - is usyk the new Chris Byrd or better ? Remember Byrd beat a lot of big men for his size !

Usyk is taller & has better footwork, Byrd has better upper body movement. Both are/were quality additions to their era.. but those eras were dominated by huge men.. I wouldn't write him off though… it will be interesting to see how he does

Honestly, after seeing him against Chisora, I don't get what all the hype about him at HW was all about. He looks very beatable to me.

He's like a cross between Byrd and a HW Joe Calzaghe. He lacks Byrd's upper body movement or ability to fight out of the pocket, and obviously lacks Cal's blistering handspeed, but his combination of movement, high workrate, and accurate punching will cause a lot of guys problems.

He relies on his feet way more than Byrd ever did. Byrd could stand right in front of guys and make them miss wide. Usyk has to dart in and out and from side to side to land his shots, and often gets tagged while doing so. But his insane workrate and constant movement, coupled with his ability to read opponents and make adjustments mid fight, make him a nightmare down the stretch.

Usyk doesn't have the same type of elusiveness of as Byrd. Usyk's defense is almost entirely his feet keeping him out of range. I'd say Byrd was a better heavyweight since his upper body movement allowed him to fight in the pocket. I think against a big tall heavyweight, Usky will be overwhelmed. He is so upright, that it won't be too difficult for a 6'6 type guy to keep him at the end of a jab, and if that guy also has big power, I think they knock Usyk out.
