I see a lot of the same cats that wanted Loma knocked off calling this fight close LOL. Loma Lopez was a close fight this wasn’t.
Same thing every fight. Multiple groups of people that think they are the only ones that know how to score a fight and saw the fight properly and the other groups dont know how to score fights. Cracks me up to see the same thing over and over and over and over. Boxings subjectivity sucks.... I hate it.
Fight looked like Usyk vs Medzhidov all over again. Chisora's size caused Usyk some early rounds problems, but ultimately he got popped at range and just ended up becoming a plodding punchbag. Bit shocked so many people had it close. Have they never watched Usyk before or something?
I don't do chin talk, friend - but I am okay if others do. This said, this was a close fight that could have gone either way. The fact that some of you refuse to see that leads me to believe you are biased in some way.
it makes us no better than a yt comments section. this is a boxing site, with people who have studied boxing for decades, and they gotta argue about the most basic and obvious of things with a gauntlet of fanboys just to get a word in without being accused of racism or nationalism.
Ya let me guess everyone but you, right. Im joking, but the idea that people being willfully biased and playing favorites is the sole reason for such wide variances in every close fight seems pretty illogical to me. And always everyone else saying it about the other group. Ive scored fights against the fighter I was rooting for or betting on in controversial fights.... where many people scored it for the fighter I wanted to win. Seeing what I wanted to see had nothing to do with it, and Im sure that happens to plenty of other people. JMM scored the Loma Lopez fight for Loma, Ward had it a Draw, majority of observers had Lopez winning. Ive seen round by rounds here where CST, IB, and Pinoy have completely different views of the same fight. Its stupid that a sport can have that much discrepancy and openness to interpretation. And is quite literally, subjective.
Yes Chisora won some early rounds while Usyk was keeping his distance and figuring out his opponent. But this wasn't like Loma giving away 6 rounds. Usyk popped Chisora constantly with sharp jabs and combinations, while Chisora swung wildly. Del won a later round; 8-4 or 7-5 but a draw? Nah. Keeping in mind Usyk was outweighed by nearly 40, I think he did very well. And he took 2 or 3 flush shots on the jaw. Replays showed that some of what looked like big Chisora hits merely hit Usyks arms or gloves.
