Can he dig deep when he's down and come back from a disadvantage?

He was tested by the reach and volume of LSC early. He really did look like a mini Tyson when he pulled out the KO.

Santa Cruz spent most of his career at bantamweight. He's a twig

If he was copying prime Tyson, he did an amazing job there.

They were both Bantamweights, Tank showed exceptionalism. Lots of the doubters got the answer tonight

He was probably a bantamweight when he was a teenager… There is a big difference

What? That the bulked up bully was getting backed up and beaten up by a scrawny featherfisted featherweight, and was being a dirty piece of Stank ass trash throughout, fouling every chance he got, until he was eventually bailed out by his power? That's painting a more accurate picture.

Not impressed at all. LSC was a good fighter and that's about it. He was smaller than Tank. Still nothing on Tank's resume to impress me. And Tank got hit a lot. Pathetic defense from LSC at this level of the sport. Blindsided by a cartoon punch.

I'm with other poster. What question? That he can KO another guy moving up from a lower weight? Hell of a KO but that didn't answer anything that hasn't already been asked. Gamboa and LSC weren't question people were asking.

He proved that when **** ain't going his way, he can make Miguel Cotto proud, with a hard nut shot attack. He should have been deducted a couple points for the hard low blows he landed. The last one was a fight changing nut shot, a la Cotto.

Fighting smaller fighters that have a name but arent hard to find with power shots is a great formula to build hype but doesnt actually tell me all that much imo. Which is why this fight never appealed to me in the first place.

Hard to say until he faces guys in his weight classes, so far his highlight wins are against 2 guys that are blown up featherweights in (Cruz and Gamboa) and a chinny Pedraza.

Also Gervonta was getting touched up a lot by a guy that is not a big puncher (LSC has a high work rate but most could say he isn't a power puncher).

How will he do if he faces Teo, Ryan, Loma, Campbell, Haney, even a mid-tier guy like Kambosos who fought tonight, those are all guys in his weight class he can fight. If he is persistent on fighting guys from lower class, then he needs to fight a guy that is a power puncher like Valdez or Berchelt or even slick guys like Herring and Shakur that can keep up with him.

That's when Tank's story will really be written

Very few shorter framed boxers, have the ability to deliver that kind of power. You see lots of shorter journeymen land those uppercuts (without tenderizing opponents with body shots), they don't have the same effect.

That upper cut was as good as Darnell Boone doing Andre Ward, except Boone is a pure one-dimensional sniper-puncher.
