Who would Mike Tyson have a tougher time fighting, Earnie Shavers, or Mac Foster?

A prime Tyson would have destroyed both these guys but which of these heavy punches would have landed the most on Mike and been the bigger danger to him?

Shavers, I don't know why it is even a debate!

Whatever your reservations about Shavers, he was obviously one of the three best in the world, at some point in time!

I don't think that anybody would argue that for Foster!

The reality is that 87-88 Tyson blows through both of them without difficulty. Mike really gets underrated on here in terms of who people think would give him trouble.

    Tyson would annihilate Ernie Shavers.

What you should have asked is who would make it out of the 1st round without being koed...

Hard to say, but I think both would be tough fights for Tyson. Foster liked to fight in close and if he managed to get Tyson in that position Tyson would be in for a tough night as he would against Shavers if Shavers forced the fight at close range.

Shavers was took out by punchers, and he’s going in against the most vicious of them all. Tyson in 1-3 rounds

I would like to see what happens if Shavers landed a bomb on Mike.

Neither would be a tough fight.
Tyson by KO in under 3 rounds.

Shavers honestly had the potential to be an ATG, if he actually dedicated himself to learning the tricks of the trade (or even basic fundamentals) instead of relying on his devastating power (which to be fair was more than enough to get the job done more times than not).

tbh I think Tyson dispatches both in the first round. I'm certainly no fan of Mike but it's going to take more than a big punch to deter him. Shavers with his crude swinging would just be begging to be countered. I see it going similar to Shavers VS Quarry except more brutal and Shavers won't have the early round success he had against Quarry.
