Probably realised figures were not good enough from last weekend's sh*teshow and needed this cancelling so that the PPV Mugs still buy his big money maker's PPV next month.

 

Povetkin's age group is highly susceptible to Covid.

Yeah you're right, Whyte Povetkin isn't happening anytime soon, I actually don't think it happens at all now.

 

Luis Ortiz must be crapping himself.. literally, at his age it's common.

 

Hearn was desperate to get this fight on before Fury / Joshua both fight and a Whyte win would have then seen him put pressure on with WBC to call a mandatory. Of course, this would then prevent Fury vs Joshua hmmm.

 

Hopefully Povetkin's not too ill.

This raises a lot of possible scenarios.
Povetkin could be ill and have to retire and somehow Eddie gets Whyte re-instated as mandatory !
OR ... I'd like to think, Povetkin isn't ill at all and is ducking out of this stupid rematch, and miraculously recovers after Whyte signs another fight contract, and gets his shot sometime next year without having to KO Whyte again.

Not a great look to put on a PPV in lockdown so Hearn can’t be too gutted about the postponement.

I wish Povetkin all the best- if he is very ill with COVID then the rematch would be in doubt full stop. Looking at the rankings Whyte would be looking at Ortiz/Ruiz/Parker for the mandatory spot if Povetkin was out for a long time.

 

Even though Pov is 40 years old. It is suprising that covid has had that much of an impact on the man. Perhaps he has bad health due to the years of PEDs abuse?
