Diaconu is not a puncher, this is true. His record proves it.

Dawson is the champ, this again is true.

Champs shouldn't have to go overseas to Romania to defend their belt, no matter what bull**** pursebid happened.

If you don't think he's much of a fighter, that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But saying he's not a puncher is simply ignorant. The only debate is whether he's the biggest puncher in the division.

By the way, I think this thread has run off course. For me the bottom line is that Diaconu has earned his shot at the WBC regular belt. He was the WBC International champ for a while, won his eliminator with Rico Hoye, and beat Chris Henry for the interim title. He got injured before his fight with Dawson and it had to be postponed. The WBC granted Dawson the right to take a fight with Johnson in the interim, which he did.

I understand if Dawson wants to go after bigger fish (whether it be Tarver or someone else), and I don't think that would qualify as ducking Diaconu, but he should vacate his title then. For all of the stupid **** sanctionning bodies bring about, the only good thing about them is to allow guys like Diaconu to get their shot.

Dawson can't have his cake and eat it too. Either fight Diaconu or vacate. Both are fine by me.

 

Axe has been claiming for the last couple of years that Dawson is by far the best from 160-175 and would easily beat the rest.

We are just all waiting for Axe to write something in here.

Yes Dawson is the champ. He is world title holder, which means he is prepared to defend his belt anywhere, anytime against the opponent which has earned his chance at that world title. A world title holder fights around the world, and promotes the sport where maybe it's not so big, IMO. If Dawson didn't want risk having to fight in Romania, or anywhere else outside USA for that matter, his promoter should have represented him better during the purse bidding. Or he can vacate his title, or he can be a fighter, be a man and show up and take care of his business as a champion should.

Finally, you don't know me, or what my home country is, so again you demonstrate your ignorance. Want to keep going?

Ok, 730AM, Chorus sports stated Diaconu is the new WBC champion. WBC will announce that Dawson has be stripped of the belt in the next few days.

Congrats Diaconu. You made Dawson **** his pants. Dawson, nice ducking.

 

Such a devastating puncher that 40% of the guys he has fought have made it to the final bell. Anyone can knock out chumps, which is where Diaconu built up his KO's.. and even fighting mostly chumps he still didn't KO 10 guys.

...and k2fan.. you list that you live in Romania.. so either you are lying about where you live, or you're a moron. Call me ignorant because I use the information you are freely letting out there? You live in Romania, and you defend Diaconu.. it doesn't take a genius to add that altogether.
