Fenech couldn`t take Nelson`s power and Inoue is better at landing power shots than Nelson was, Fenech`s style was tailor made for Inoue, Fenech was wide open as he rushed in and very easy to hit, early KO, no contest.
Fenech, until Inoue proves otherwise. Jeff was a physical monster, rampaged through 4 weights and beat up Azumah Nelson before he went past peak.
At bantamweight, Scary Monsta. Fenech was very raw as a bantamweight. His pressure fighting skills weren't fully developed. He was physically very strong though. He matches up well in that department. And he did beat an undefeated Olympic gold medalist & a future Hall of Famer during his title reign. But I think Scary Monsta is a fair bit quicker & more skilful. Nothing wrong with Fenech's chin in the lower weight divisions, btw. Fenech had retired undefeated with three world titles under his belt well before he ever stepped into a boxing ring with Azumah Nelson. If Scary Monsta continues to win world titles as he moves up in weight, I would be happy to revisit the comparison. Fenech was more ferocious at Super Bantam & Feather. Also, where is the fight taking place? If Fenech encountered someone who was faster & more skilful than himself, he usually manhandled them until they began to slow down. By manhandle, I mean toss them around like a stuffed koala bear.
Very close. But I'll go with Inoue for this one. Fenech would be much stronger and tougher than any opponent the 'Monster' ever faced.
we talking about the fenech who took nelson the distance and was robbed on the cards, or the guy coming out of retirement some years later?
Inoue sends Jeff Fenech into boxing retirement and then orders custom sheepskin rugs from the sheepskin outfitter that Fenech ends up working at.
Jeff Fenech was a different breed. Galaxy had a reputation as a rampaging monster this was not based in reality- Jeff earned his but he was cut from Armstrong’s cloth expect he was just about always the bigger stronger man. Not the most powerful boxer in the world by a long shot- but one of the most violent no doubt his intensity broke people. No fighter in history has an easy night with the best version of Jeff Fenech.
I haven't seen enough of Fenech, but Inoue puts peoples lights out and bodys out of commission. Extremely powerful and accurate. Dangerous.
Fenech sparred with 140lb Roger Mayweather and manhandled him around the ring, pissing off Unca Roga, so they sparred a few more rounds. Inoue is great and I'm sure Fenech will get knocked down at some point but he won't give Inoue space to breath.
