Winky Wright also deserves an honorable mention, at least in my opinion.

No. Watch the Holmes-Berbick fight (especially the mid to later rounds) for a showcase of a heavy yet snapping and strategic jabbing. Berbick was dominated, and that jab had everything to do with it. Or watch the Ocasio fight where not only did Ossie get blatantly knocked down by the jab and basically overall driven into the ground by it.

Marvin Hagler might well have had the best non-heavyweight jab.
Not sure how to compare it with Holmes.

Holmes has an overrated jab. Well thrown but tactically quite average.

As John already mentioned, I rate Ali as having the better jab all things considered.

I'm not a big fan on Loughran as having better. He had a good jab for his time, but as we can visually see, it's not impressive as time went on

I think Whitaker had the better jab, same with Hearns. As much as I hate to say it, but Floyd's jab, when he wanted, could dominate a fight like Holmes. Look, Holmes has a great jab, one of the best, I just think it gets a little overrated these days.

Hmm? I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Holmes jab was overrated in the last 40 years, I guess if you live long enough you'll hear anything

I think Joe Louis had the best heavyweight jab anyway.

I don't think anyone needs to defend the Holmes jab. Watch him, especially from 1979-1981, which was a real peak for that punch.
