    Not the point. When Witter and Hatton were at odds, Witter was still ranked at 140. Learn your history son. Boxing existed before Canelo came around. :sisi1

    I don´t recall Matthysse and Maidana ever being on their way to a fight. Their paths just did not line up.
    By the time Matthysse came to prominence at 140, Maidana had already moved to 147.

    They fought each other 4 times as amateurs and spend a lot of time with each other, then they were fighting for the same promoter.

    They had an offer to fight, Maidana recalls that he did not want to fight because "it was a dangerous fight": "we are two countrymen and one of us was going to stay behind."

    Because Maidana was already retired when Matthysse made his move up to 147.
    And when Matthysse made a name for himself at 140, Maidana was at 147.
