Looking at the recent HOF inductees, its possible. However, beating Rigo & Estrada in 2021 gets him the HOF & beyond
3 weight world champ, unified champion at current weight, it could be argued he's done enough but he's no shoe in for induction into the HOF. But his career is really only just started to take off, he's got years to carve out his legacy. If he becomes undisputed at bantam weight then that would do a lot for his legacy.
Yes. Forget his accomplishments, any fighter his size who can punch as hard as he does deserves to get in just for that reason alone because it's incredibly manly. A 108-118 fighter being able to hit like that is about as manly and badass as it is a 6 y/o boy being able to grow a Grizzly Adams beard.
Rigo is younger than prime Bernard Hopkins, WBA Bantamweight world champion Rigo is breathing on the neck of Inoue and will not let Inoue just have a perfect career. One perfect counter and everybody on the forums will turn against Inoue. Rigo only loss was was to a bigger Elite level Loma, at 118 he is too strong for Donaire (biggest name on Inoue resume), Rigo dominated prime Donaire, 6 years later Inoue faced a declining Donaire. Yep Rigo maybe old but it's a fight I'd want to see, simply from a style perspective. Inoue is usually the one who's dangerous on the counter, Rigo will be one of the very few guys Inoue will meet who will force him outside of his usual game plan. In my opinion a win over Rigo would be a signature win for Inoue and better than any name on his record currently.
Rigo vs Inoue, winner gets an ATG nomination. Inoue already ducked Roman Gonzalez, Estrada, SSR, so this fight has to happen, its high risk fight for Inoue & big reward fight for Rigo. Rigo is an underrated puncher...he likes to hurt opponents with counters force them into a shell then outbox them in a boring fight, he did it to Donaire & everybody before Donaire, so Inoue might not be able to take that power Rigo has on his counters
I'm a big fan of Rigo dude. He hasn't got a fair shake his whole career. I don't expect any different this time. It's not an "excuse" to duck Rigo either. The reasonable "explanation" would be the fact that Inoue probably will go after the young, hungry prime fighters.
