Eimantas Stanionis born August 17th 1994 is a 5'9 Welterweight with a 4-0 3 KO's record. Born in Kaunas, Lithuania and fighting out of Oxnard, California, USA. Stanionis who started as an amateur at 13, is a 2016 Rio Olympian and a Gold Medalist in the European Confederation Boxing Championships and several other gold, bronze and silver throughout his amateur career, he has a win over Jeff Horn in the ams, even though I thought Horn edged it. He got eliminated in Rio by eventual silver medalist Uzbek Shakhram Giyasov, personally I think he's the second best amateur from Lithuania, the best being Evaldas Petrauskas, but evidently he's not going to turn pro any time soon. He was scooped up by Richard Shaefer who signed to his new promotion, Ringstar Sports, and even though he lives in Oxnard, he's trained by the legendary Freddie Roach, who's a pretty good fit for him, since Freddie excels at training come forward fighters. Personally, I'm not sure if he has what it takes to succeed, he's a come forward pressure fighter, he has a solid jab, good peekaboo defense, has a nasty overhand right, does decent inside work, he's a little too hook happy, he tends to follow his opponent instead of cutting off the ring, also I suspect his power won't hold up against top tier comp, since he doesn't have one punch KO power against subpar comp, that being said, he's no featherfist, when he steps up, he'll probably wear guys down and get them out late. That being said, he's fun to watch, and puts on a show, and he's young, so hopefully under Roach's tutelage he can tweak a few things here and there and hopefully turn into a full fledged beast. So Check Out The Lithuanian Lemieux in Action.:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

According to Freddie, he was KOing Cotto's sparring partners left and right, and Loma is Eimantas' favorite fighter.

Been impressed by the little I've seen of him so far, which is only 2 fights IIRC. He looked very heavy-handed in those ones.

He looks more talented than his countryman Kavaliauskas.

Not sure if I'd go that far, he's definitely more entertaining, but I'd pick Egid to KO him late or UD him, he's not all that impressive either, but he has a few more wrinkles in his game than Eimantas.

Egid seems to have stopped improving lately, maybe he needs to switch trainers or something. This kid looks way more open to developments.

But yeah, right now I'd favour Egid as well.

I agree, he seems to have stagnated after the Ilbay fight, I think Garcia has done all he can do with him, he needs to move on like Gvozdyk.

He could have potential.. but I won't ride the wave until I see a somewhat more promising start.

Speaking of me thinking Petrauskas is better than Stanionis, here's Eimantas beating Evaldas.

Although I thought EP edged it myself.

Another beast from the east. Stanionis is an excellent prospect at 147, strong, tough , big puncher.

    his fight the other day
