Did we jump the gun on Usyk or is he still best CW ever and a top HW?

What is nonsense is your appraisal of the Thompson fight. Have you seen the fight or are you just boxreccing? A green Haye threw the kitchen sink at Thompson in the first half of the fight, completely gassed and got knocked out. Usyk had the luxury of a long amateur career that Haye didn’t, he was much older and more experienced by the time he turned pro. Only a fanboy would pick the Usyk that scraped past Chisora to beat the version of Haye that schooled and obliterated him.

Give Usyk a chance. He's not proven at HW at all. I still think he could become a champion, but I'm reserving judgment until I see him fight someone in the top 10. (Hunter at CW doesn't count).

aye people dont look at hayes cw resume, it wasnt good at all. Mormeck the only top win. breidis, gassiev, hunter they all beat mormeck. haye may of fought huck, lebedev, cunningham especially cunningham but he did not. his cw resume is lightweight.

Usyk has the same problem as Lomachenko. Both wasted their youth as amateurs. They are brilliant as pros too and clearly the best in their weight class, but they became pros way too late. So, after they pass the age of 33-34, their form will decrease due to aging, so sadly losses will probably creep in and they will be labelled as overrated by many, which isn't fair tbh.

At CW, Usyk was loads better than Haye. You could argue Usyk/Holy either way.

At HW, it's hard to compare. Haye stepped up at age 27, Holyfield stepped up [from the old lower 190 limit, albeit at a time when HWs were smaller generally - Bowe was considered a giant at 235lbs] at 26.

Despite a [softish, both in terms of the decision and the standard of opponent] world title win, Haye never reached a standard that was even halfway close to the very best HWs of his day [the Klitschkos]. Holyfield was arguably never quite the best HW out there, but at his best was a worthy opponent for anyone and given that he stepped up mid career had a HW career of exceptional longevity.

We'll see how far Usky can go. My instinct is that, even having stepped up so late & [let's face it] probably unlikely to ever win a title, he's slightly better at HW than Haye ever was, but won't ever nearly get to the prime Holy standard.

Holyfield might have been the best champion ever at Cruiserweight.
Usyk without a doubt has the best resume.
Haye is likely the most dangerous champion at the weight. His speed and power were something else.
However, the man was really vulnerable as well.

Was it his sensational performance against Witherspoon, or running for his life against an old, shot Chisora that convinced you he’s a better heavy than Haye? This is just fanboy rubbish. Haye destroys Usyk at HW.

He’s a better fighter than Haye but Haye’s power and explosiveness translated better at HW. Usyk has to pepper and cook his opponents before they’re ready to go, where Haye could shut the lights off as witnessed in their fights against Chisora.

Haye and Evan Fields were on the juice. Evan definitely, Haye I have a hard time believing was natural.
That's the problem comparing them to Usyk.

I think Gassiev takes the most dangerous. Sellers and Kudryashov are the hardest hitters though. Those ****ers could whack. I tend to think any Haye loses to a younger CAT too.

No, he lost to a journeyman.

    Please.

Well, yeah. Lost to a super middleweight journeyman. Exactly.

By comparison, Usyk was winning a title in his tenth fight.

And that long learning journey is still with him, which is why he is a much better fighter. Exactly.

Please again. You are making a fool of yourself overstating and accusing.

Well, no. Again, you just don't understand the sport. Usyk outboxed him, Haye landed the big punch. If they fought, Haye wouldn't land the punch.

Usyk just isn’t that good I’m afraid. Nobody in their right mind watches both guys against Chisora and thinks Usyk is the better figther. Only a deluded fanboy.
