I’m fairly confident of a spinks win. But he needs to box very intelligently to get out of the first few rounds. Once he starts bouncing that right hand off Morrison’s chin he’ll be on the way to a TKO victory

Spinks wins this one. Morrison was a dangerous puncher especially with the left hook but it would take more than that to beat him. Just ask Cooney.

Hmm,,,,,I'm going to go with Tommy here, Cooney was a rusty alcoholic and Spinks just didn't hit that hard as a heavyweight.

I think Tommy is too big, powerful and hard hitting for Spinks, and I'm favouring him. Morrison's achilles heel was his endurance and chin. I don't think Spinks is going to hit hard enough to trouble Morrison, whereas Morrison is going to be dangerous to Spinks all the time. Spinks could outbox Tommy I guess, but he'll need to pitch a shutout in order to take it.

Did It really take a big puncher to hurt Morrison

I would bet the house on Spinks. Tommy didn't have the jab or feet to put Mike in his pocket. Mike had the pop to put Tommy down and a good chance of stopping him.

Yuri Vaulin..... Joe Hipp..... Ray Mercer..... Michael Bentt.... it doesnt look good for Tommy... but this would have to be the Spinks that fought Holmes the first time...

I'm picking spinks. Too much movement, too much stamina, defense is better, and he might not be a big puncher but Morrison didnt have the best chin and had a bad habit of walking into punches

Even Spinks all the way up to Cooney I think would have a shot at beating Morrison

I agree, but Morrison, because of his punching power would be a dangerous opponent and he's relatively skilled, himself.

Spinks might not have been a great heavyweight but he was a very good one who still had his skills when he moved up.

I think he could box his way to safety in the early rounds before growing more confident and forcing a later rounds stoppage.

A washed up Carl Williams gave Morrison hell too.
