Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I only just saw that the Tyson Roy exhibition is being put on BT box office? While a farcical match up in the first place, I can't imagine even any casuals purchasing this. Shocking, to the point it isn't even amusing
Are you joking? This is Tyson. People will pay for it, not a massive amount but enough will. A guy at my work who doesn't even like boxing that much is all over it because it's Tyson and he grew up in that Tyson era.
Questionable whether it is Tyson. It's a pensioner. How many do you predict this will sell? I'm genuinely stunned it is box office, even in this dire climate
Im honestly not bothered but don't underestimate how big Tyson still is. Just look at how many views his training videos got.
Tyson obliterated by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride over 15 years ago - surely prospective PPV Mugths do not think they are getting a pre-prison Mike Tyson at 54 years of age. I really feel sorry for any PPV Mugths buying this farcical exhibition fight.
I’d rather waste 15 notes in Poundland on a load of tat than watch these two old has beens wank each other off in public!
You're looking at the situation from the perspective of a knowledgable boxing fan who knows Tyson and Roy are decades past their best and who knows what an exhibition bout is (a fake WWE style sparring match). The casual mugs do not. They believe they're going to see Tyson and Roy roll back the clock and have a real, all out war.
Just be grateful that you’re not working on the phones for BT’s customer service the next morning with everyone demanding refunds.
What gets me is this being an exhibition fight. Joke of a PPV either way, but if it was legitimate, professional contest, then regardless of age I’d have a bit of an interest in watching it. But for something that has been quite clear throughout that it is just a bit of an uncompetitive spar does absolutely nothing for me.
