Very interesting fight. Braddock was very awkward, had that flicking jab, and weird loopy but accurate punches, his right overhand was actually very dangerous. I think Evander gets rocked a few times for sure and maybe even gets frustrated, but his edge in hand speed and counter punching would see him win a decision. Braddock was past prime against Louis, but still highlights the trouble he would have here against quicker counters. Now Evander only fought a spoiler like this in Ruiz, whom he still fought evenly with while giving up youth and speed.

I don't see a stoppage or knockout for either guy. It would be very ugly but again, interesting.

And I'm no fan of his at all and I believe he took steroids (thus he cheated), so that means that I believe old time guys suck in comparison to modern ones.

They suck because they can't compete with someone who has an unfair advantage?

It's not just steroids, but also about superior nutrition, skill and training.

A fighter like Braddock always has a chance, but I fear not a very good one in this case.

Oh Jake, if there was a poll I would mercifully vote for Braddock.

In terms of pure power, are there many better?

I’ve got to say I just don’t go along with how highly Baer’s power is regarded.
Fair enough he put a beating on Schmeling who took a lot of punishment although he couldn’t really put him away, had Carnera down a dozen times or so and he was also stopped on his feet.
I can’t think of a major contender Baer knocked out.
I’m open to being educated here but I just don’t buy it.

Braddock is a sitting duck for Holyfield. It ends within 5.

    Highly unlikely.

Whatever Braddock's failings, there was noting wrong with his chin.

Holyfield does everything better than Braddock ,his heart would keep him in there, but hopefully a compassionate referee would rescue him in the late rounds.
