Would have been a good fight, 60-40 Wilder. Nobody can blame him for getting spooked and dipping after Pov pissed hot. Russia can be an unsettling place for foreigners, I speak from experience.

It’s a performance enhancing drug, whether it’s a steroid or not is irrelevant.

My bad, got my definitions mixed up there.
It´s just a performance enhancer.

Steroids and PED´s are not the same.
Hell, caffeine is a PED.
Alcohol is considered a performance-enhancing drug in competitive shooting competitions. Something to do with heart rate.
PED is a rather vague term.

There is a metric TON of stuff to mock Wilder over that have happened recently but kudos for digging up old, already debated to death stuff from five years ago.

What ever happened happened when they were due to fight. Wilder ran back to America 1st chance he got, him and his team wanted no part of Povetkin. But the Russian gave them an exit with failing some test.

But Povetkin has remained a high ranked contender since then and where as some of the other top fighters have chosen to face him Wilder has not. As far as I can tell Povetkin is just another dangerous fighter that Wilder has managed to dodge over the years, another name that he hasn't fought that could of actually added some decent meat to his weak ass resume.

I'm sure you'd have the same opinion if Wilder was popped for a banned substance so this is very fair

Caffeine and alcohol are not banned substances, come on now. All Wilder knew was that dude failed a drug test, he doesn’t have a clue Meldonium is. He did exactly what he needed to do and got the **** out of Dodge.

Didn't he fly out overseas to fight Povetkin and Sasha tested positive for something?

If a guy goes through a training camp which costs a good amount of money and takes a good amount of time, flies overseas to the other person's backyard and the hometown fighter tests positive, you can't really blame the foreign fighter.

Povetkin is sick, he can't take the fight. What do you want him to do? Fight him sick and infect Dillian and everyone else?

Besides, Povetkin KO'd Dillian. Why would he need to duck him?

Not going to call it a lucky punch it was a clean KO, but truth be told Povetkin was losing every second of the fight up until the KO, puls he had been down twice himself.
Why risk a rematch with a dangerous guy like that when you can get out if it and fight someone else?

Povetkin cheated preparing for Wilder. Povetkin cheated preparing for Stiverne.

https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/18678119/jury-rules-alexander-povetkin-took-banned-substance-meldonium-deontay-wilder-fight

Originally, it was believed Wilder would be awarded his nearly $5 million purse for the cancelled fight, but the promoter filed a suit to block payment. The money was held in escrow until 2018, when a judge said the promoter's money could be returned to him and not given to Wilder - basically because the fight never took place and it wasn't the promoter's fault Povetkin cheated.

Since 2018, people act like Povetkin didn't cheat because Wilder's purse was returned to the promoter. That didn't have anything to do with Povetkin being innocent.

It had to do with the promoter not having to bear the responsibility for Povetkin cheating.

Povetkin cheated ... twice in the same year for two different fights.
