I feel that as time went on a lot of people look back at this fight as Brook being beaten down / fully exposed by Spence and by some quarters gutlessly quitting Personally i look back on this fight as one that until the final rounds was ultra competitive but the better man won.i remember after the fight Adam Booth who was commentating on 5Live saying "this was elite level boxing at its best" I've always rated Brook as a talent and respected the fact he wanted to defend his belt against Spence, despite having to move back down after the havingbhis face broken by GGG Appreciate that there were plenty of rumours he didnt live the life but once he has never appeared to avoid tough fights, i just thinkthe thurman , garcia fights were not gonna happen when they were all champions on different sides of the fence. But he could have easily vacated the IBF belt and avoided Spence. He deserves one last throw of the dice against Crawford IMO and end of the day even at 34 will still be Crawfords best opponent to date and remains Spence's toughest opponent so far End of the day i just hope Brook outdoes Khans effort, and unless he is completely done he expect him to do so as he is a better boxer
Crawford exploited a glaring flaw in Khan's offense that he managed to find just in round 1 alone. Khan has never been a fully-fledged welter, Brook is. Khan didn't fight Brook because he knew Brook had a good shot at not just beating but stopping him and didn't want Brook to live off such a win. If Brook isn't shot he can make this a 12 round fight Brook needs to take away confidence from Crawford, Crawford is very much a confidence fighter. He looks to gain and take confidence away throughout a bout & will use sneaky roughhousing to do that. If Brook is edging ahead at any time Crawford will go for the balls or try to change something up. Brook is more of a set fighter though. Easier to figure out but fundamentally extremely sound. Crawford does tire and he can be hurt. Spence would definitely beat him. If Brook gets rocked badly by them quick lead punches Crawford throws or that piercing left hand which follows then the fight isn't worth watching.
Not sure Spence beats Crawford easily, although he is just as at ease when it comes to the low blows/rough housing But Spence hasnt faced a fighter with crawfords versatility Similar my hope for Brook is that he was brought up facing versatile, switch hitting, unorthodox boxers in the Ingle gym. But end of the day he is still 34, hasmt fought at 147 since Spence and apparently found his trainer on instagram, so that should temper my hope lol
i agree. spence, if the crash didnt diminish him much, will beat crawford handily. make him look fragile, for all the killer rep bud has built up.
Looking at the responses why is everyone so sure either way when it comes to Crawford v Spence ? Am I missing something ? For me they are both top level but with the caveat they have not been in many fighters that the bookmakers gave much chance..hence why brook will be the best opponent either has faced I know styles make fights but for those who say Spence beats Crawford easily, are they expecting Crawford to struggle against Brook ? Who beat Porter and was neck and neck with Spence until the 10th, and Spence went on to have a competitve fight with Porter ? Im not so sure, but at the same time Crawford hasnt even faced a Porter or Brook (from 3yrs ago) so his level is more based on the eye test in my opinion So i aint got a clue who would win but find it funny how some people are so certain Personally on the eye test i have always leant towards Crawford talent wise, but Spence is a big welterweight and i have mever paid much attention to Spence fight night weight conpared to crawford at WW so that would need considering, plus as time goes on i would have swung towards Spence cause Crawford is 33, but then there is a potential swing back cause we do not know how much the drink driving car crash effected Spence So in summary i have typed a lot of half drunk **** and still have no clue

Eddie Hearn really did a terrible job in managing Brook's career once he beat Porter for his belt. Why the hell did he ok him going up 2 weight classes to fight the most avoided fighter in the sport at the time (and arguably the hardest hitting fighter) in GGG? Than he follows that up around 7 months later moving back down to 147 to fight Errol Spence? My gosh, what awful matchmaking. He needed more time off after the Golovkin fight to recover from the damage he took to his orbital bone and deserved a soft touch against someone like an Algieri or Josesito Lopez type, not Errol Spence. i wonder what Brook's career would've looked like had he just stayed at WW and not made the foolish journey up to 160 lbs. I get he couldn't get a top notch WW in the ring with him but he could've waited it out and probably fought someone like a Danny Garcia. He's a very solid fighter and strong for the weight class. I've seen 2 of his fights since Spence (I think one with Zefara?) and he looked pretty good in one of those matchups, so-so in the other. At his best, I actually think he could give Crawford hell. Brook has a good chin and he's a fundamentally sound boxer with good pop in his right hand. Truth be told, he actually had some nice moments in the Golovkin fight which was shocking to see and I had him winning by about 1 or 2 rounds at the time of his stoppage against Spence. He did very well in the first 6 rounds of that fight.
Spence v Brook was a close fight, which Spence eventually started dominating after the eye injury. If you have just had one eye socket broken how are you going to react when it happens again. Spence seems to be the only guy trying to make fights at 147 apart from Porter. The others are absolute jokes, except for maybe Crawford whose ridiculously low grade resume could be the fault of his promoter. He looks the goods but it can only be proven fighting live bodies, not dominating tomato cans, and ithe proving starts today. Don't get me wrong, I want to see Bud prove how good he really is. If Brook is not shot, this will be a close fight. He's getting on in age and is coming down in weight, that being said I've seen some experienced guys dropping weight classes successfully. I want all the belt holders to fight each other, you will see the rubbish get swept into the sidewalk. At the end I imagine Spence and Crawford will battle for Welterweight supremacy.
Brook fundamentally sound? He makes basic mistakes which gets him hit when he shouldn't get hit. He's a reflex fighter so it didn't matter so much when he was younger but now that he's past his peak, he gets hit more often.
