Deontay Wilder activated the rematch clause eight months ago.

The third fight was rescheduled multiple times at two different venues because of Covid.

Wilder has been talking about his loss and the upcoming fight ... from suits, to injuries to trainers and saying Fury isn't the real champ ... and you guys have been commenting on his "excuses" all year long.

In the last couple weeks, all of a sudden MANY OF YOU want to pretend it has been deathly quiet from Wilder's team and he's been in hiding since last February and nobody has heard anything from Team Wilder all year.

Have you all forgotten all the threads on this board you started and commented on blasting every statement Wilder has made since the fight in February?

Now you want to pretend Wilder has been silent all year and everyone has been just twiddling their thumbs waiting for anyone to say they want a third meeting?

I think the real nutcases are all of you. (LOL) The last nine months weren't a dream. It all happened.

"Wilder has exercised his right and we have to keep to it, but obviously we would have liked Fury to fight Anthony Joshua, with all the belts on the line, but that fight will have to wait until the autumn," Warren explained.

Arum said he has been in touch with Wilder co-manager Al Haymon, the head of Premier Boxing Champions, and said they are on the same page. "Al and his people are in touch with us all the time on this," Arum said. "We see things the same way. We'll be very, very cautious moving ahead and pray this will be over at a particular time and we will be able to make smart plans. Nobody has ever experienced anything like this before."

The long delayed third fight between WBC Heavyweight Champ, Tyson Fury, and former champ, Deontay Wilder, will have to wait a little longer. This, according to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank Boxing, who revealed Wednesday that the proposed date of the trilogy fight (December 19th) no longer works for the television partners in the pay per view.

We’re moving off because there’s five conference championship games that day and night, plus two NFL games,” Arum said. “So we can’t go with the 19th; we’re looking at other dates right now because ESPN advised us, and Fox advised the PBC [which promotes Wilder].”

Some sense there. Those many people who worship Fury don't like sense.

Im thinking it maybe a mind game from Fury as this fight on 5th doesn't seem to be gaining any ground.

The more I read it sounds like Wilder side have panicked. They wanted the rematch but not until they can sell venue tickets. They delayed and delayed, Fury said he would only wait so long and December was the latest he would wait. They ignored him and pulled the plug on December and Fury said he would move on.

So now Team Wilder in a panic and are trying to get December back cuz they have seen what Fury could have lined up in 2021 which puts Wilder out of the picture.

Fury was ready to go. Team Wilder made the mess here, like they always do.

Am I the only one sick of hearing/reading about Wilder?

It's almost as bad as when Haye was talking himself up while being inactive and making every fight negotiation a saga.

The dent in his head is obviously very interesting and worth discussion, but outside of that it'd be better not to be distracted by his bleating and the coverage of it. If he has a fight signed ... bring him back into the conversation.

It's one reason I like Usyk ... a fight against anyone anywhere comes up and he just steps up and fights it, without too much drama.

Wilder ducked Povetkin, ducked Joshua, did he duck Fury? Possibly either way he's to blame for the fight not happening. They were too focused on the money and wanting gate receipts for the rematch and so delayed the fight until the point the rematch clause was not valid.

Fury wouldn't of cared if the fight generated a gate or not he has his 5 fight $100 mill deal with ESPN he makes a ton of money regardless if there's a live gate or not. He's wasted most of 2020 waiting for Wilder and his team to sort it out, guess he's sick of waiting.

You do know there has been a pandemic limiting big fights don't you? Pandemic is Wilder fault too?

And Fury was willing to wait, and wait he did. But only for so long. He's waited long enough, he told Team Wilder he would only wait so long, the pandemic hasn't gone away so life goes on. All the other big names are fighting through Covid times.

Absolutely, now he realises Fury isn’t feather fisted and shot he wants no parts. He’s ducked everyone dangerous his whole career and will continue that behaviour if he comes back to the sport. Ducking Fury is totally in keeping with the pattern of his career.

Wilder was lucky to skip the third fight. He would have lost again.
He should regroup and take a few confidence building fights.
Or retire. But I think unless he takes a few more fights and wins,
he won't be happy in retirement.

Sounds like Fury-Wilder III will be in January or February, just like the suits at ESPN and Fox wanted before Fury threw "his" tantrum and said he wasn't going to wait any longer.

    You have to ask? :D

DW is among the worst, but it's not just him. Why don't more top 10-12 HWs fight each other.

I'm the A side, but I'm also almost the A side... that's a "slave" contract (for millions of $)... what venue... who's the ref... blah, blah. They "fight" more on social media and than in the ring :BangHead:

Wilder paid the Chinese to engineer and release the virus.
