Taguchi in his fourth pro fight, who went on to become unified WBA, IBF, and ring champion.

Brutalized Hernandez, who was the man atop the division.

Obliterated Narvaez, who a prime Donaire couldn't do anything to.

KO'd 3 world class opponents in under 4 combined rounds and won the WBSS tournament.

Outboxed, punished, and KO'd a bigger Jason Moloney.

    Crawford's resume is awful.

He's fought a murderer's row of average fighters but he's still a really good fighter. He's not the best in the world though.

Not having a go. Resume has to be the most important facet surely. Eye test can be deceiving and lead to fighters being put on pedestals that haven’t earned it.

Bud is greatly skilled, he’s also achieved a lot but take Ennis, a young talent who has beaten nobody of note, heralded as future P4P numero uno. If he picks up trinket after trinket beating fringe world class fighters and past it old champs but looks ‘great’ his place will be determined by how he looks rather than how good a fighter he has defeated, that’s been the problem with Boxing in recent times .

Fight the best, beat the best, be the best.

Canelo and Inoue easily come to mind. You may like him but it’s hard to truly rate Crawford at 147. At 147 Crawford has fought:
    1. Bums in Omaha
    2. The ghost of Kell Brook who’s career was murdered by GGG
To call someone with no significant wins the best fighter in the world is absurd. The best fighter in the world would not have lost multiple rounds to Kell Brook at this stage in Brooks career.

The truth is no one knows how good he is because he can’t prove it without fighting the best and he can’t face the best cause he chose money over legacy when he signed with TR.

Lomachenko has better technique. Inoue has better athleticism. Estrada and Canelo have better records. If he's the best he needs to do something to prove it. He is the best at his weight though.

No he is not. His competition has been lacking. Shot fighters like Brook and Khan just don't get you there.

Coulda fought Porter instead of Brook. Think about that disparity in competition.

tell me a more accurate formula of showing a fighter's pedigree/achievements than who they fought and when?
take the fighter in your profile for example...

There's a few parallels between Crawford and Inoue.

Both are three-weight champs, use speed and timing to great effect, are top counter-punchers - possess a certain X-factor I've never got from watching Canelo - and both have their most important fights ahead of them.

As things stand I've been a bit more impressed with Inoue and his gloved nukes.

Crawford = Best fighter right now? Nah...not yet. If he beats both Spence and Pacquiao then I will recognize him as # 1 P4P.
