This. I’m surprised it took Arum this long to turn on Crawford. I remember Crawford not giving many interviews in the Indongo fight and Indongo having to almost singlehandidly sell the fight and Crawford banning the Aussie media in the Horn fight.

Crawford is a talented fighter, but he’s put zero effort in trying to market himself outside the ring. He can’t expect the promoter to do everything for him. If even non english speaking fighters can market themselves in America he has no excuse.

In my opinion, when you have someone as good as Crawford, the promoter is responsible for promoting the fights.
I cancelled my subscription to ESPN+ today because of Arum's stupid decision not to mirror the main event on ESPN+. The was not Bud's fault but a stupid decision by Top Rank.

    "I have nothing to say."

    "That's a problem. You're on live television."

Crawford has always struck me as a genuinely eccentric person, seeing those interviews with his mother you see where it comes from.

The whole bunch they are who they are. You could send them to the moon and they would turn it into a little slice of Omaha.

He's not about to change anything about his effort to promote fights.

Dann that was harsh... even if it was true it’s something he didn’t need to do publicly, unless he’s talked to Bud till he’s blue in the face about this and is trying to light a fire under his ass. Bud seems like a normal guy who loves boxing, and he probably figures I’ll let my skills do the talking.... problem is today you need to have a little showmanship to sell to the public.... you could see last night after the fight during the interview when they asked Bud who’s next he looked at Arum, but when he looked he didn’t say anything almost like that’s this f’n guys job.

Pac's rabid fanbase didn't make him earn all that money in PPV in the US. It was his style. Crawford isn't boring at all but he's no Pac. I think Crawford is simply not exciting enough for casuals, and since he doesn't talk, he doesn't draw.

A fighter can always demand fight from his promoter. Truth is Crawford wasnt complaining when he made those millions fighting B fighters. A promoter’s job is to get you the most money , not necessarily the most career defining fight. Crawford can and could have demanded Better fights but he didn’t.

Crawford could do a better job in promoting his brand, but Arum is 'The Promoter' whose responsibility is to get his fighter the big fights and not bouts with the Brooks and Khans.

    This is actually pretty funny.
Hearing this, Crawford should continue to fight safe opponents and promote the events with his incredible charm.
Crawford is causing Arum distress and loss of gold. He's suddenly gone up in my estimation.

Arum is full of it because he knows Crawford isn't going to sign with him again. If Arum were really that concerned, he'd have approached Haymon about making a Spence fight. He doesn't want Crawford fighting the best guys unless the best guys fight for him. What he wants is for Crawford to market B-level fights against in-house fighters.

What the fu*k is a promoter for if he wants fighters to promote themselves? Might as well hire a savvy social media kid instead and save the millions that would be siphoned off his account by Arum and his ilk.

Why was he a fool? Bob has been paying him rather well and his pay has gone up through the years. Dude is getting a minimum 3mil a fight.

Arum is the fool here. He signed Bud to a lucrative deal, and now cries that he is loosing money??? How about try and put Bud in actual big fights?
