100% and said this on another post. It’s difficult with boxing because you have such little content to work off but I’d be confident he would be able to hold a punch at 154 if he went up and fought at a decent level. You can see the likes of Bellew when he was at 175 or Haye are crusier, even Khan looked stronger when he moved up from 135 to 140. Brook was baffled afterwards as he said it has never happened in an actual fight or in sparring. To be honest his survival skills were awful. You never know the damage losing those extra pounds to get down to 147 do at 34 years old.

The issue for me is he has no easy transition at 154 as he has no promotional ties. If he wants to go on that is. I can’t imagine he’ll do anything but have a good Christmas consumption wise so where does he go? Retirement for me unfortunately. Hearn has had him for 3 years with the option to do 147 or 154 and got him Rabcenka, Zerafe and Deluca so let’s not pretend he is had the magic solution.

Hearn was moaning about them fights in his latest interview. Sounded like Kel was asking for easy ones.

Brook just wanted paying. We all know who he has fought so I don’t think he can be accused of ducking. I wouldn’t believe a thing Hearn said. Sky weren’t obliged to buy the Brook fight but what I take exception to is Hearn blocking it because he wasn’t involved.

He had a chance to make a serious transition to 154 & carve out a title shot but he never committed fully to it. It was made very publicly clear that Kell could no longer boil himself down to 147 two years ago yet he was still calling out Khan and other 147’s. Liam Smith called him out and he didn’t even acknowledge that. He’s messed about with puddings and inactivity and then hiring trainers off the back of Instagram posts.

Imo Spence took his spirit that night. He’s treaded water and he physically lost a step. Yes he dedicated himself to this camp but it was for one last significant pay day.

Harsh. Think it was obvious that Kell came to win. Turned up in fantastic shape and boxed tremendously for two rounds. Jabbing Crawford's head off. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Couldn't wait to see what was going to unfold.

Round three Crawford switches stance and starts causing Brook all sorts of problems. Then bang, lands one of the best jabs you'll ever see. I agree that Kell's weight cut affected his usually solid punch resistance but that was a hell of a jab. Perfection.

So much class from Crawford to switch stance and completely change the pattern of the fight. Landed a jab from hell and finished the show perfectly. Was very surprising to see Brook rocked like that early in a fight. Never happened before.

Crawford always very much in the p4p no.1 debate for me. A class act.

I'm still up for Brook/Khan and there's not a man on this site who wouldn't watch it. Eddie would sell it no problem. If it is to happen, Khan will demand 147 after seeing Kell's punch resistance last night. That evens the fight up making harder to call than before. The one sure thing is that it doesn't go 12.

I think both fighters would be mad not to make the fight and make their last few mil. Khan is the stumbling block though. Always has been. He may ruin the negotiations again with a ridiculous demand. I hope not.

It wasn't really a jab that crawford landed it was a hook, I thought it was a jab too but Crawford said it was a hook and if you watch the highlights at the proper angle you see the hook.

That’s what I was saying about adaptability bud, Spence didn’t change his tactics when he fought Brook, he just kept doing the same thing with Brook sharing that success, only Spence was more durable and carried more hurt in his shots and eventually he broke Brook down. Then you see Crawford do a couple of rounds exchanging jabs & having a look and he just brings in plan B and C and does the job in 4 rounds.

There’s been a couple of posters who have questioned Crawford’s P4P quality on this thread but just look at what he can do. One of the most intelligent & instinctive fighters around, today.

I thought it was alarming how Brook instantly started losing the jab battle when Crawford switched stance. Coming from the Ingle gym you’d expect him to be able to cope better

i always questioned brooks chin after senchenko rocked him bad who wasnt a puncher , but he then took far more powerful shots from ggg , speed kills and he did not see the shot to ride it or take the sting , the ifl slowmo reinforces it he does not move at all, just saw dominic ingles interview where he mentions senchenko also , cant remember anyone publicly admitting he was hurt ,for a long time i thought he was chinny - his whiskers were fine but with the eye sockets definitely time to hang em up

I've not seen it yet but I know Mike Costello thought Brook had trouble with eyes most of the way through. The weight cut is deo a factor. He was shredded at the weigh in - not always a good sign if you cant get your water and fat levels where they need to be for fight night.

It's Khan and out for me. Probably out. Khan would insist on 147 and I could see Kell struggling - it will all depend if he thinks the money is worth it. His career hasn't panned out like he would have wanted and its defo a case of what might have been for him.

Khan at least had that time under Roach where he was genuinely world class and beating decent fighters. Brook has beaten the same warm up fighter again and again.
