There is clearly a head butt at 52 seconds of the of the first round, landed right on that eye, the ref was in perfect position. That tessatore commentator idiot just brainwashed thousands of people saying theres no head butt, and replaying that jab a thousand times, and tim idiot bradly just went along with it, andre ward picked up on it as he always does.

The question should be did that headbutt cause the eye to swell? Or was it a thumb, jabs or a combination of all the above.

Yep I have seen that now, still hard to tell if that caused the eye to swell. After seeing the other replays it looked that Moloney landed a clean jab right in the eye and I believe that is what caused the swelling. Either way I feel bad for Maloney he looked to have made adjustments and was well on top I believe he would've gone on to win. Hopefully a rematch is made and this time Franco has to come to Australia.

Yeah its hard to say exactly, i find it hard to believe that one clean jab would cause that, maybe there was a thumb in there somwhere, but no visual evidence to suggest that though. An accumulation of jabs on that eye possibly, but being so early in the fight i doubt that. My moneys on the butt or a thumb or the combination of all. I noticed franco had a good first round then maloney started taking over, Its one of those things, rematch asap, feel sorry for both guys.

Yeah was ridiculous and another black mark for the sport, with pretty much the only people in the world who saw anything resembling a headbutt was the ref and the officials unfortunately.
Moloney took him lightly in the 1st fight and paid the ultimate price but looked much better this time and far to good for Franco, with him and his team not believing there luck walking out of there with the title.
Probably unlikely but after fighting him twice over there,I think he deserves the rematch in australia.

Maybe we could put on the fight here because we could actually have a crowd.

To me that instance look like the heads coming together more on the left side of Franco. My opinion it was a thumb from the jab, only way that blows up so quickly with the thumb getting inside the eye then targeted from that point on.

How Bob Bennett hasn't been fired, is staggering considering the crap that continues to happen in Nevada in boxing and mma, on an almost weekly basis on his watch in charge and the way he tried passing the buck after that Moloney fight shows he has no business holding any position ever again in the sport.
He likely won't be replaced as it's an old boys club at the top but it's clear the majority of refs, judges and officials are inept and need to be replaced ,or at the bare minimum be retrained and held accountable for there incompotence like everybody is, when mistakes are made.

Bob arum working on a big card for next year, kambo v teo, maloney v franco, tszyu v tba - hopefully zerafa. Imagine that bloody card ay? Would be unreal, obviously kambo v teo would be the headliner.i think they are gona need a solid undercard/ co feature to generate the views both in house and broadcast as george v teo wont do the numbers that they hope without that. The casuals wouldn't know these two boys that well, hell throw horn in there somewhere and feed solimon haumono to justis. Put prowler in there with benny also.

    We can only hope.

I really like Liam Smith as an opponent for Junior Tszyu in a WBO title eliminator. He's a former WBO champ with three successful title defences under his belt and who has only ever been stopped by Canelo. He's not over the hill so that fight would be a great reality check for Junior in terms of where he's at. It's important not to be fooled into thinking he's more advanced than he really is by virtue of the Horndog result.

A show headlined by Teo Lopez & Gorgeous George supported by the Tool Train & Andrew Moloney against Franco would be tremendous for Australian boxing. And yes, let's get Justis Huni on the show also in his last fight before the Olympics. Hopefully against someone better than Solomon Haumono. I'm thinking Demsey McKean. Or the Kiwi H/W champ, Hemi Ahio. Or Willis Meehan or Joe Goodall.

I like Tszyu v Smith that would be a very good test at this stage. Tszyu looked great against Horn but yeah it was Horn. I just hope egos don’t get in the way and all these guys are happy to fight on the same card.

If the egos get in the way it be a damn shame as the money will be there for everyone and a great platform to be showcased on, no brainer i reakon.

Demsey McKean v Joe Goodall is a better fight than McKean v Bowie Tupou. Winner fights Justis Huni.

In fact, McKean should give Joseph Parker a call. Apparently he's looking for an opponent. I think he can be found lying on a towel at the beach.

Daniel Dubois v Joe Joyce is a tremendous fight. Nfi who wins. Well done to Foxtel for getting it for us.

Two very talented, up-coming heavies putting it all on the line. Dubois deserves to be favourite but you can't write off the guy who made the Olympic final & hasn't been beaten since.

It's crazy how a lot of these old heavyweights in Australia always pull out of fights. When you see a fight lined up with Browne, Tupou, Haumono you can pretty much guarantee that it is not going to happen. So no surprise that Tupou has pulled out.
