Would Crawford beat everyone Mayweather beat?

Possibly but most likely not.

 

Cotto, canelo, Pac, DLH, and Mosley would be very tough fights for Crawford

 

Hard to say especially considering we haven't seen Crawford at 154. Crawford IMO is the best boxer in boxing at this time hes been the most consistently dominate over the years. I've ranked him as number 1 pretty much since Floyd left. The only real thing missing with Crawford is the real big name opponents hes just knocked off two top brits at welterweight in Khan and Brook to go along with the other good fighters hes beaten in the last few year but we need to see him take out Spence to really solidify his legacy. Pacquiao would help too but at his age he could be argued as over the hill. Porter and Thurman would be good wins at welterweight as well. I'd look for him to get at least one or two of those wins before he'd think of going all the way up to 154 to end his career like Floyd did. Head to head Crawford vs Floyd would've been a real good match up anywhere from 135 to 147. Crawford doesn't get nearly the attention Floyd got but has been every bit as dominate against his opposition that I will say is slightly under the opposition the great Floyd Mayweather faced at least lacking nearly as many big fights and big names. Crawford has gone through his career dominating decent opponents though often fighters who weren't really big names, he has never seemed to face the perfect or right opponents for him at the right times. His big fights against Postal, Khan and recently Brook you gotta feel like could've been against better opposition a slight step up to facing the very best in the division. Hopefully the Spence fight happens soon which could be career defining for both especially Crawford if he can win. Crawford's likely got a few years left hes already racked up a lot of good wins and if he continues on the path hes going he has to be considered great but he should be facing mostly top tier opponents from here on out and will have to truly prove his greatness.

As far as him beating Canelo when Mayweather beat him or beating Cotto when Mayweather beat him. Crawford is just proving himself at 147 will have to see if he can move up and be effective against 154 lbers especially guys like Canelo who would go all the way up to win a light heavyweight title. Crawford isn't the defensive master Floyd is and you have to think these fights would be even more difficult for him.

Inoue's been more dominant than Crawford. Inoue barely loses rounds. Crawford was being shut out in the early rounds by Gamboa, EK, and Kell's Korpse.

 

Inoue can be argued as being the best in the world right now without a doubt hes been completely dominate just in a smaller division with much less victories then Crawford has.

Castillo at 135lbs would be a war, but it's a very different fight. Crawford has MUCH more firepower than Floyd so Castillo might just been decapitated fighting like that. It would have been slightly more technical. Crawford would have also beaten down Mosley and Maidana for stoppage wins. 23yr old Clenelo at 152lbs gets beaten up and possibly(probably) stopped by Crawford. Crawford dominates 1-armed Pacquiao same as Mayweather did. He beats down Zab in a firefight and makes him quit.

It really comes down to DLH and Cotto...and right now it's hard to see it.

 

As an off the cuff estimate Floyd might have ~15 wins as good or better than Postol and another 5-10 not much worse.

Any one of them he has a chance/is the favorite but not all 15ish in a career.

That's the Floyd accomplishment, him winning all of them. A whole slew of fighters have single wins as good or better.

 

Interesting. I think he'd beat many of them. People are including guys at 154 already. He's not even at that weight class. I'm thinking more along the lines of Floyd's opponents from 135 to 147. I cannot think of one that I would favor against Crawford at the moment.

 

The power of Crawford would definitely be the difference maker in a fight with JLC. Just like you said.

Brook only won the 1st round and it was hardly a shut out he only landed 6 punches in that round, both fights were just probing each other before Bud turned southpaw and worked Brook out.

 

Mayweather had 27 victories 20 by KO. I.e. a 74% KO rate. 3 every 4 fights won by ko when he fought castillo. And I would say that vs better oposition than crawford's.

It's very funny how in the global collective mind mayweather is pillow fisted . Mayweather at superfeather hit like a truck, he had nothing to envy from crawford's power (which is not something unreal either, crawford kos because he's a finisher, not a one punch ko-er, same as floyd was, btw).

EDIT: ofc I think that mayweather is a better fighter. For me mayweather is the best I've ever seen, another level, 2 or 3 steps above everybody else, doing things in the ring that most of us cant even understand. His boxing is as complex and difficult as boxing can be, something not ever seen before. Crawford is awesome, he's really good, genious, really good, but not that good.
