I'm all for women's boxing if it's kept separate from the men's professional game.
I feel the same way about Youtuber boxers, white collar boxing and Freddy ****ing Flintoff.

I’m all for it, I just want to see competitive fights. That Harper v Jonas fight was excellent and probably fight of the card. Taylor v Persoon was also quality. Ball against Courtney was also an enjoyable watch.

However, It does need 3 minute rounds though, desperately so we can see some stoppages. Even the mediocre fighters can hang on for dear life for 2 minutes. They probably need to mess around with the weight divisions, too. There’s not enough depth in talent to justify so many divisions.

Just to add, Ball’s fight with Guanini on Saturday was very very close but she got cards of 99-91, 99-91 & 99-92 in her favour. If that was a blokes fight we’d have all been going crazy. She got gifted a belt lads and guess what will be coming next....a rematch with Shannon Courtney to become a world champ. This is what makes it a farce and rubs people up the wrong way, not the actual concept of women boxing. Hate the game not the players.

Women beating on each other is abhorrent, and should never have happened, for a raft of reasons, their body's ( this shouldn't need to be pointed out ) are vastly different from men's, breasts being the bleeding obvious start, then we have the mensural aspect, who knows the damage that is being inflicted on this important part of a women's body, also in the years to come, how lovely to look at a former female boxer with scar tissue over both eyes, flat nose, and a cauliflower ear, or two , she shouldn't have any trouble finding a partner ! there is something worrying and disturbing about men who enjoy this spectacle.

Ball vs Courtenay 2 is going to be a horrible one, "stay on your feet, Shannon, and the belt is yours", I can see it now and the Mental Health Journey story after, endorsed by Charlie Edwards who'll chip in with how he's battled coping with having to see that face in the mirror every day. Sorry, that was a bit much.

Women and any men feel exactly the same way about male boxers.

If they are going to fight, they should immediately uphold the principles of equality and have 3 minute rounds fighting topless the same as men.

It's not for me , I just don't like seeing women punch each other and I just don't think its very good , the talent pool is so small that the gulf in class in alot of fights I've seen is plainly obvious.

I don't get the praise Katie Taylor got either , she was in with a human punch bag . If it's on I might have one eye on it if as in the Courtenay v Ball fight the odds compilers have f****d up and there's an opportunity to cash in but other than that I'm not a fan. As someone pointed out the 2 minute rounds do it no favours either as a spectacle.

Can’t quite believe the archaic attitudes here!!! As I have previously said woman’s boxing will be massive. All the boxing gyms I go to are full of girls boxing. While the card the other night could have been more competitive, the woman’s fights during fight camp were easily the most entertaining. Woman’s boxing will only get bigger and better and I for one thinks it fantastic

As stated already the depth just isn't there. Some of the standard is by far worse than the lower end of the men's game. I wish they would just show the really competitive fights to begin with and when the talent is there let it grow.

Wonder if we will ever get to the point where we have our first journeywoman?

It’s not archaic to think women’s boxing is garbage. It is. You got a couple of fun fights during lockdown. Great. The quality was still diabolical. You might as well be watching area title fights, they’re just as fun and you’re significantly more likely to get a KO.

That card at the weekend was shite as well. It’s going to get in the way of men’s boxing soon because it’s cheaper to put on.
