Angel Robinson Garcia deserves a mention. He’s almost entirely forgotten and was the very definition of a journeyman and road warrior who fought everywhere and on short notice. Had a total of 237 fights, 135 win, 82 losses, and 20 draws. Only stopped 3 times (on cuts) in 237 fights and only knocked down twice. Also had a very interesting backstory as well. He was pretty much a better version of Emanuel Augustus. Over the years he’s fought (and lost to) HOF fighters such as Eddie Perkins, Ismael Laguna, Jose Napoles, Ken Buchanan, Roberto Duran, Wilfred Benitez. The guy had a lot of great names on his resume. I only wish that there was footages of him. Based on articles he fought in a style similar to Sugar Ray Robinson.
I actually started watching Rafael's fight with Freddie Pendleton the other day. I actually liked him more than Gabriel, even though he didn't have a great chin and I'd say Gabriel was better overall.
Here's another little tid-bit (no joke) Davey Day had over 250 fights amateur / pro and never suffered a cut! A fair est. of punches thrown at him (by 250 fighters) would probably exceed 10,000. Think about that for one minute. He was the #1. Ltwt/Welt. challenger to Armstrong, Amber's. Unfortunately he was in the same stable with Barney Ross 1931-1938. He was Ross' policeman, you had to go through (beat) Davey to get a shot a Ross, nobody could do it. Tony Canzoneri was offered to sign a contract to meet Ross for a trilogy ( probable gate MSG $100,000) by proving he is worthy by beating Davey first. He passed. Google Henry Armstrong vs. Davey Day--- also a picture of Day arriving in NY to fight Pedro Montanez on Ebay you don't have to bid on the item, just read the description in the item, what it was like fighting in the Golden Age Of Boxing.
