Two guys who liked a tear up at times.
    Alan Minter v Rocky Graziano
15 rounds for the middleweight championship of the world?

Either Minter on points or Graziano by cuts. Although Graziano could knockout a horse so Minter could be going night night.

Funny, Lach and I were talking about this just last night. Well, Graziano in the 80s anyway. Might make a thread on it actually. Anyway, I think Graziano KOs Minter while clearly losing. Maybe similar to Sibson fight, but it lasts longer.

I think Minter beats him easily .. Graziano to me is the most over rated fighter out there .. I have felt for years he and the version of Zale he fought were the Gatti Ward of their day ...

Minter outpoints him unless he foolishly goes for a prolonged tear-up.

This match would be a tactical war. Alan Minter using lateral movement while using his southpaw right jab early, keeping Rocky Graziano off balance as he charges in. But in round 5 Rocky catches Alan with a fuselage of hard blows to the head and body, opening up deep cuts over the eyebrows. The referee would have to intervene to prevent further damage to an injured Alan Minter who was game throughout the bout.

I think Minter too, maybe by stoppage. Graziano was nothing special at all. It could get hairy for Minter on the cuts front if Graziano could goad him into a tear up, which wasn't the hardest thing to do. But he was tough outside of the Sibson fight and had enough of a dig to hurt Rocky, who was the type that Minter tended to do ok against in terms of style. Holding ring centre and semi-aggressively matadoring more limited aggressive types who couldn't consistently exploit his average defence and reflexes and might be thrown off by his mix of stand up box-punching, southpaw stance, herky jerky movement and straight punches.

Minter was a really good fighter. He really was. Haggler beat a real champion there. People forget that minter did better against Antuofermo than Hagler did.

However, Graziano really was an astonishing puncher. It was not just hype so Rocky has to be given a punchers chance here. And a big one.

I see this making a trilogy series that Alan can win with Rocky able to win one bout by knockout or cuts. In a 3 fight series Rocky can get one win against most champions to be honest.

    Absolutely spot on.
I suspect on here Vito is a little bit more highly regarded than Minter mainly because of his draw against Hagler.
It seems to be forgotten that Minter beat the **** out of Antuofermo in their second fight and left him a bloodied and beaten mess.

No, he didn't. Minter scored a very disputed 15 round decision against Antuofermo.
Hagler drew with Antuofermo over 15. Many had Hagler winning that. There's nothing in it.
They both fought close fights with Antuofermo. Minter was lucky with the judges, Hagler wasn't.

They both destroyed Antuofermo in rematches.
So they did the same against Antuofermo.

Minter was a good champion though, I agree.
