Newsboy Brown once fought Panama Al Brown. Newsboy was almost a foot shorter.

I can't think of any others. Guillermo Jones vs Laurent Boudouani is one that springs to my mind. 176cm vs 193cm at light middleweight.

That could actually help Clenelo.... he should make himself shorter in the fight and Smith will have to punch down and will lose power. It’s one of boxing oldest laws, when your small make yourself smaller (fight out of a crouch)..... just have to be aware of the uppercuts the most.

Why do people seem to think Smith is open to the body? He uses his range well so they don't get body shots off, even in the Ryder fight he didn't get hit with a lot of body shots and Smith struggled with Ryder because he's a southpaw, I have seen no fight where Smith was getting hit a lot to the body

Alvarez’s brain trust will have taken this into account, they take no chances with their creation.
Look no further than his last fight with Kovalev, or the Golovkin manipulations.

Because when Smith is pushed to be defensive, he only covers up. He does have long arms, but he still leaves his body quite open.
Smith is decent at catching and countering, but also very limited at it. Meaning he is predictable and one dimensional in that regard.

And no, Smith did not struggle with Ryder just because Ryder is a southpaw.
Ryder pressured him, easily got under the jab and then got close.

Ryder literally did his best work because when you get close to Smith, he will cover up in a high guard.
    He did it vs Fielding.
He did it vs N'Dam. (fantastic catch and shoot from Smith)
    He did vs Mohoumadi.
    He did it vs Holzken.
And he will do it vs Alvarez. Only this time he is going to get smashed.
