He kneeled in front of Joe Joyce and he quit.

He didn't try to box Joyce, he just thought of knocking him out. Bad idea against an experienced olympic medalist.

ah it wasn't an Ortiz quit job,

It was omg my eyesight Matthyse quit job.

It's not that bad a quit job.

His trainer was pretty negative, put him down emotionally.

I saw the post fight interview with him and the replay a few times, and he quit.

You need to go out on your shield.

There will now always be questions over his heart from now.

    Another hype job exposed

I think the ringside physician should have taken a good, hard look at that eye before the 10th round.

With all the so-called precautions around Covid-19, how about looking after a bloke's eyesight without him having to do it mid-round himself?

The sad thing is his eye looks prone to swelling.

There are guys who will pepper him with worse jabs than Joyce was landing.

Bit of a flaw, needs to utilize his own jab better

The aesthetics of that are career limiting. Nobody is going to pay money to see him fight for a long time.

He needs to own up to the fact that he got a lot of hype that he simply did not deserve, and allowed himself to be pushed into waters that were way to deep. Then, he needs to start over with the idea that he has 3-5 years to go before he is back on this level.

Idk, usually I hate quitters with a passion but I don’t think Dubois was that bad, he’s eye was completely shut and this was his first test against a very tough and durable opponent that seen it all before. I also been hit in the eye where it was the worst pain I ever had. I give him a pass for this fight, it was a even fight that I thought he was winning, hopefully we see him back soon.

It was a quit job but your eyesight is one thing you don’t want damaged so I can kinda understand it. Still a quit job though.

Pish, the pain would have been excruciating and made a wise decision taking the knee. He will rebuild and come back.

He will knock out a few gatekeepers and will still be a draw.

Said to the Mrs I don't think he will come again... You could see him mulling over whether to quit in between the round before.. He shoulda have come out n emptied the tank to stop Joyce and go out on your shield... I hate to say it but it was a quit... And that mental fragility is just there now.... I don't think he will get over it

Put him in with Price. That will build his confidence back up again.

Was an understandable quit. Eye was completely finished, it was only going to get worse, he had to save his own eye if the doctors didn’t even step in to look once.

but a quit is a quit. He look pretty discouraged back in the corner everytime his flurries did nothing to Joyce

Inoue suffered a broken orbital bone and fought w/ double vision for 10 rounds after.
