His defense was awful, he doesn`t show any head movement.

His heart isn`t in it, like Buster Douglas when he quit v Holy, same mindset.

He got exposed he doesn`t have the fundamentals to compete for world titles at all, there`s no way he should have been ahead, Joyce`s jab was terrific in there, Dubois looked completely befuddled.

In hindsight should we have expected anything other than what happened last night. Dubois wasnt a stand out amatuer. Hes never really fought anyone in the pro,s against an experienced olympic silver medalist decorated amatuer in joyce. Pretty much went how it should have.

I still reckon dubois done well considering. Franks basically had to make him his headline act through nothing but desperation. He wasnt and probably wont ever be ready for that. Frank knew how limited dubois was...hence he handpicked guys like the japanese heavyweight for dubois.

His big mistake was underestimating joyce and getting carried away with dubois. I,d have made the same mistake tbh. Joyce was technically much better last night that he usually is...tbf hes not really had to show that side of himself much in his professional career so far. Hes a guy thats a lot better than he sometimes looks.

Still time for dubois with his age because his natural size strength and powers very very good. He needs to step back now tho...and get put back to where he should have been all along....fighting on the undercard...building his experience etc. Getting hard sparring. Top trainers in reinvesting in himself etc.

I wouldnt even be concerned about quitting. Its not a big problem at this stage...the real problem was having no idea of how to use his power against joes lateral movement...and no idea in how to avoid joes jab. Paced himself badly etc.

All things that can be improved on tbh.

The rebuild starts with the surgeon with his eye socket.

Really concerned that this fight may have taken a lot out of the young lads career. Bad move all round, too big a fight too early, the injury is too big, his view of who’s around him may change after last night.

The reality is Jurgen, until he fought Joyce he had not even fought at Britush level. These international titles distort many young boxers realisation to how good they are. They start thinking they are world class without even fighting British title quality opponents.

Has anyone with a broken orbital ever come back the same as they were. All I can think of is Brook and Margarito never being the same after their injuries. DD has youth on his side but he needs some serious healing time now.

Looks like Frank has cooked his goose before it had time to lay the Golden Egg.

Career could be over but if not and even if he has the will, it is unlikely that he will ever be up to a Josh Taylor v Regis Prograis or Lebedev v Jones type fight with that injury even when healed.

Yeah there is something not quite there with Dubois, lacking. He certainly looks the part but his eyes and facial dialogue don't tell a story of a guy who loves pugilism and is on a journey to the top.

Whenever Dubois landed a clean punch he just started throwing sloppy power punches, because he’s used to the opposition he fights being wobbled after every big punch. Joyce wasn’t wobbled and I think it maybe took Dubois back slightly how durable Joyce was. Connor Benn used to do the same but he’s improved more than Dubois

It’s time for a few 10 rounders against the more durable journeymen like Hammer, Wach and Jennings. Fights where he’ll be expected to win but not have it all his own way.

Change trainer and learn something new. His current one has got him so far, time to mix it up and learn some more tricks.
