Yes, he's absolutely a quitter, stop excusing him like he's a little child. Fans are just devastated because another one of their darlings has been exposed.

He's supposed to be a bad-ass destroyer, no? A warrior, no?

He didn't know his orbital bone was fractured, he's not a doctor. At best he felt some unfamiliar sensation/pain there and the adrenaline probably covered it up. And the argument he couldn't see out of that eye, so he's allowed to quit ... what about Algieri? He couldn't see out of one eye for about eight rounds and he was in with the guy who gave Bradley CTE.

Dubious is a quitter. And the rest is just damage control.

Malignaggi got his jaw broke in the 4th round when fighting a prime miguel cotto and he still finished the fight on his feet after 12 rounds

i will try and add some perspective to it. for some men, not a whole lot, there are worse things than death, and there are better things than life. throughout history, there have been men whos whole aim was to one day die in battle, as a warrior. men who didnt want to die of old age, a shell of what they once were, and remembered as that shell instead of what they once were. its a selfish way of thinking, but it still happened often enough.
although i never bought into this way of thinking, i understand it. they dont see life as a life, but as a story. a story to be remembered many years after they have been gone. and this story is about courage and heroism, not about comfort and longevity. i have met men like this, lived alongside them. and as i said, i dont share their values completely, but i cant help but respect them for having them. thats why so many, love those men who bring that mentality into the ring.

No it ain't, an orbital bone is an orbital bone. Inoue was getting hit by a guy weighing 120+lb while Dubois was getting hit by 260+lb. All those heavyweights who have sparred or fought Joyce say he is heavy handed with the jab.

I love Donaire and Inoue and they are both absolute warriors but, like David Price alluded to on a Boxing Social interview, Joyce was torturing Dubois with that jab and the level of experience between Inoue and Dubois is like apples to onions.

He should have launched one last front foot raid in the 9th or 10th and gone for it.

If he had got knocked out and stopped at least he would have given it everything. That was his plan A. Go to the well, launch one more attack and go for it with everything you have.

To quit off a jab is embarrassing. Sorry to say that it is, but it is. He went out with a whimper and will struggle to live that down.

Like with Vitali the reputation will follow him around. He will be known as Daniel "Quitois" Dubois.

Fabio Wardley ain’t becoming a heavyweight champ. No amateur pedigree and the guys who are around his age Dubois included are all better than him.

I would much rather 'go out on my shield' to a crushing uppercut /RH, KO punch than get jabbed dozens of times on the same spot. I've suffered a fractured cheek bone and it lit up my teeth for a fortnight and was not pleasant but, at least I wasn't getting punched on it constantly.

A broken orbital bone can at any point, lead to blindness in that eye, it's a potentially career ending injury and by all account incredibly painful.

Add to that you've got a 260+ lb tank of a man purposely targeting that injury with a ramrod jab and an inexperienced boxer who's never experienced that kind of in fight hardship. I get that Dubois quit but, I feel it is a stretch to call him a 'quitter' as that implies Dubois is a coward and has no heart.

I think Dubois will be stung by this criticism and I hope he comes back stronger. A lot of people on here seem to be hoping that Dubois is done.

The only way he could be a quitter is if he never came back. When we rise from defeat we show our true colors. To face our fears in the midst of failure shall define us in the face of life's chaos. No one who has fallen cannot rise again.

Why? Because he hails from Ipswich, right?

    Who are these ''guys,'' huh?

Sometimes justice is served almost immediately, given his comments towards Joyce's Mother, but I wouldn't call him a quitter because he stopped fighting due to a nasty injury like that.

Hrgovic, Yoka, Dubois, Ajagba, Gassiev. All those guys are within his age give or take a couple years.
