Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur Willie Hutchinson vs Lennox Clarke Chris Bourke vs Michael Ramblesetta Dennis McCann vs Pedro Matos Quite a solid card
I'm assuming 20 is meaning that Arthur can stick his jab In yardes face whilst stepping back and looking for the right cross or right uppercut. Lyndon can fight on the back foot and yarde is going to have to close the range down either by attacks or that left hook counter he uses a lot. Lyndon will be looking to keep yarde right on the end of his lead arm( Arthur has a reasonably long reach) and keep peppering him and scoring pts, waiting for yarde to make an attack and catch him on the way in. Lyndon also works well off the ropes. I'm picking Lyndon to win this fight.
I agree, I think Arthur is a real live underdog. This fight has sort of gone under the radar with Joyce Vs Dubois, talk of AJ and Fury, this is a really interesting and good domestic fight.
Yarde's biggest problem with Kovalev was he couldn't get past his jab. Arthur also has a fantastic jab (not as good as Kovs) and given Tunde's hesitation to actually do anything productive and change up Yarde's training means he will have similar issues.
Looking forward to this. I like Yarde but his training seems ridiculous. I’d liken him to Eubank Jr in that he can hit hard and has the makings of a good fighter but he’ll never be able to put it all together unless he gets an experienced trainer by his side.
Whats everyone's opinion on young Dennis McCann? I like the kid love his style. Only a baby hope they bring him on instead of feeding him to a Mexican in his 15th fight.
@im sparticus replied perfectly to this. I believe Yarde suffered from the same poor matchmaking as Dubois in that he hadn’t been stepped up sufficiently through the levels to be prepared for Kovalev. He wasn’t prepared for the pace, and being peppered with the jab and not being allowed to set his feet. Technically, you can see the amateur fundamentals with Arthur. For a big lad he uses his feet really well & throws out a very fast double jab. So I don’t think he’ll allow Yarde to set his feet & throw. I think he’ll become ragged again in the later rounds. Arthur on points.
I don’t think Arthur’s jab is anywhere near as hurtful as Kovalevs. I see Yarde walking through him eventually and stopping him. Artur likes to sit on the ropes a lot and that’s not good vs someone like Yarde. I also get the feeling Arthur doesn’t have a plan b,c or d to go to
If you can get hold of the Amin fight then I think you may change your opinion Highlights on youtube, obviously totally one sided in Arthurs favour but the commentary gives a clue to how much he struggled
Yes I was there that night. Also the no crowds will play out well for Lyndon. Not sure how it'll effect Anthony.
