Considering his record with head coaches, I'd say it's a bit of a stretch to call him "very coachable," if he thinks he knows better, he'll go his way, not unlike Wilder or Galento. The rest, I can agree with 100%.
Good point, OP never specified they were competing at boxing. If it's a drinking contest I'll certainly back the house on Sullivan
Top bodybuilders are not as athletic as Lebron. This isn't just about muscle mass, but also about coordination, speed, movement, etc. Lebron shines in all these departments, bodybuilders don't. Plus he ain't gonna be fighting a modern boxer, but someone who competed more than a century ago. Any decent amateur nowadays is way more skilled than John L Sullivan.
Call me crazy, but I'll go with the actual pro boxer that has done it for years and enjoys getting socked in the mouth and returning the favour.
No, the title of the video says "John L Sullivan vs. Lebron James". Nobody said they will be fighting bare knuckle.
Well I'll go with the Heavyweight champ who once went 74 some odd rounds in the sun over a pampered big mouthed bb player
There’s plenty of footage on YouTube of NBA players doing some boxing training. Their physique is good, but their technique sucks, their balance sucks, their form sucks, their punches suck. That’s not even taking into account how their intangibles would fare in the ring. Things like boxing IQ, heart, chin. You don’t play boxing! Of course most of these examples are one off training sessions, but you can watch the training progression for Robinson, which lasted half a year. He looks decent on the pads, but we saw what happened when he stepped in the ring. The only right answer is Sullivan in under 3.
Oh, so he’s a basketball player. Thank you. I recall some one called Wilt the Stillts Chamberlain posing on the front of The Ring with Floyd Patterson, once. I think he played basketball as well. The fellow didn’t look very robust, so doubtful that he would be any good. Far too tall, and lot’s to hit. Meadolark Lemon might have done better, his clowning would go down well amongst today’s heavyweights, especially with Deontay Wilder, who should switch to basketball, for his own safety!
