Dawson should give Johnson a rematch, since Johnson beat the crap out of him.

That's Tarver for you, just wants the serious/tough fights.

Learn to score a fight. :good

I think 90% of the posters here couldn't give either guy more than 7 rounds.

This is a good match. If Dawson loses to this old man he isn't the PFP guy that many here assume he is.

I take it this is for Tarver's title, and Dawson is stripped?

This can be a tough fight for Dawson depends on what Tarver shows up. If its the one that turned up vs Hopkins he will get knockedout. If its the one that showed up vs Johnson then he has a great shot at winning.

Dawson need to box and pot shot and stay away fro Tarver because he maight get starched. Dawson is proven that his chin is not iron.

I sort of wonder if Dawson likes this fight because Tarver is relatively inactive in the ring, age plays a part, and Diaconu has a similar style to Johnson but hits harder and is more active at this point.

Dawson likes this fight because he stands to make a ton more money, doesn't have to travel into a challenger's hometown and risk the possibility of dodgy scoring.

Plus Tarver is a huge name coming off an impressive victory over Woods, is not going to be fighting much longer and meanwhile Diaconu didn't impress anyone with a difficult fight against an unheralded Henry and will still be available barring a loss.

This fight makes total sense in every way except to Diaconu fans. And if Diaconu plays his card right he'll get his opportunity.
