3 Fights you’d like to see in the upcoming year. Obviously the top one is Joshua v Fury so we will leave that one out for now. For me I’d love to see Saunders v Eubank 2. I think the press conference would have it all and it would transpire in to the ring hopefully. I’d be backing Eubank to stop him too if I’m honest. Or Eubank vs Williams would be great too. Whyte vs Wilder. This would be amazing from start to finish, press conferences and surely would end in a brutal knockout either way. And one foreign one. I’d love to see Spence v Crawford. Surely it’s got to happen. Obviously looking forward to Taylor v Ramirez but that’s already made seemingly, so it doesn’t qualify. I’ve got to be honest, I’ve called for it before but Buatsi vs Yarde doesn’t wet my appetite at the minute. Maybe a few more decent wins each and that will change.
Good thread. Obviously Fury vs Joshua is number 1 - but aside from that.. Usyk vs Joshua. I don't think it's particularly realistic, but I'd really like to see that. I think Fury vs Usyk wouldn't mesh well stylistically and would be quite dull. Fitzgerald vs Fowler 2. I'm a huge fan of Fitzgerald and can't stand Fowler - would love to see Fitzgerald batter him after the year he's had. Whyte vs Wilder. I agree with you, think that would be fantastic.
For some bizarre reason I would love to see Joyce VS Wilder. It's like The Terminator VS a 1 shot, 1 kill gunslinger. It would prove Joyce's chin as being ATG or Wilders RH as being ATG and also what Wilder has left. I'd also like to see Usyk VS Parker as I think their styles would gel well, similar size and Parkers chin is rock solid so you could potentially see Parker going for it. Need to see Buatsi VS Johnson to see whether Buatsi is the real deal and Johnson has real ambition and, it should be a brutal war! A few honourable mentions are Liam Williams VS Eubank Jnr. at MW. I think Jnr. would rile Williams to the point of eruption and make for a proper hum dinga! And Babic VS Hrgovic - give Babic what he wants, sink or swim (most likely sunk by a full salvo but hey?). Wardley VS Dubois tail end of 21; is Dubois back or is Wardley the domestic dark horse that I believe him to be.
Men: Bakole v Pudding Whyte Tyson Fury v Usyk Josh Taylor v Crawford Women: Katie Taylor v Chantelle Cameron Caroline Dubois v Carl Frampton Terry Harper v Sunny Edwards
Taylor vs Crawford is a brilliant shout but unfortunately I think Bud takes him to school. Phenomenal talent who doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. (Taking nothing away from the Tartan Tornado may I add).
I'd also like to see: Povetkin vs Parker Babic vs kownaki Hunter vs Hrgovic Any combination of Batusi, Yarde or Johnson. Chisora vs Rivas Eubank vs Charlo Also just for the hell of it Okolie vs Hughie.
Crawford has certainly looked excellent but he does not get the recognition of an elite superstar because his 37 wins really lack a depth of top names in their prime. Yes we can say one can only defeat fighters put in front of them but 4 of his last 6 opponents simply easy pickings for most decent World Champions - Jeff Horn, Indongo and years past sell by date Brook and Khan. Josh Taylor would give him a real test and would be a very entertaining fight. Just hope he gets 3-4 similar huge fights before he retires and gets all the credit he deserves should he come through them.
