Spot on. Actually iImentioned exactly this at the time Kovalev beat Yarde. What made Yarde good was his immense confidence, he took huge punishment that fight because he was convinced he would win ... and he nearly did; at the end it was only a jab that ended Yarde because he had been going on willpower alone. Now that Yarde lost his confidence, he's comparatively easy to beat .... Tonight he didn't attack with the same commitment and trust himself to get the other guy out of there, like he used to.
Both were crap really Yarde didn’t force it enough and his team thought he was already up 3-0. Arthur who we all thought had an injured right hand didn’t and apparently wasn’t able to land it?? Surely a right faint to lure yardes left hook in and then counter? callum Johnson walks through both these guys but has a better fight against Yarde
I would be disappointed if Callum Johnson couldn't finish both Yarde and Arthur within 6 rounds. He should have more value in him from his loss to Beterbiev than Yarde has from losing to Kovalev. Callum Johnson has the better resume anyway, now we know why Yarde was being kept away from Hosea Burton, Callum Johnson, etc.
I'm going to say something not even remotely controversial, that most probably haven't considered yet. Ricards Bolotniks KO's them both.
As I said. Poor yarde is absolutely devastated thinking he did enough because he’s surrounded by absolute arse lickers who don’t know the sport and constantly tell him what he wants to hear.
Watched some of the rounds and am happy to say that I won´t be watching the rest of it. If they go for a rematch, it will be the worst rivalry in modern boxing.
