Potentially as think he might retire early but many have said they will. Some follow through and do it but then come back again. Only one in my sphere of knowledge and time period to do so is Cazaghe

And Calzaghe wasn’t unbeatable but protected for most of his prime being a home boyo until fighting Hopkins and Jones who were well past their bests by then and older than him

Probably, but Joshua has a decent chance if he presses.

I think Calzaghe would have always beaten Hopkins. Hopkins prime is iffy too, when was that? When he beat Tito, or when he beat Oscar? He lost to Taylor twice shortly after his win over ODLH. Or was it when he beat Tarver and Wright, 2 of his biggest wins. Joe beat him then. Then after his loss to Joe, he goes on to have another one of his biggest wins, Pavlik.

What a run that would have been if he did beat Joe and Taylor. Taylor, Tarver, Wright, Calzaghe, Pavlik. of the best in or around that weight in a row.

Joe would have lost to Jones though.

No because he is going to fulfil his destiny and lose to AJ for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

I forget Hopkins was naturally smaller. As you’ve said his prime was the lower weights. He’s one of the few that didn’t embarrass himself fighting till and old age though. Actually makes Calzaghes performance more iffy but think he aged more than Hopkins. He couldn’t punch in the end as his hands were ****ed so thought he was hard done by with the slapper criticism though the technicque might have led to the injuries in the first place

Will never know how good Calzaghe was although obviously supremely talented. Seemed to spend his peak being in a safe space and only stepped up at the end when it was unfair to judge someone like Roy against him. Lacy is considered one of his best performances because of the hype but because he never ever came back from Calzaghe some will say he was a hype job and others he was great until he ruined him

If he fights post 35, he'll probably lose to somebody. Just takes a bad camp, bad night, bad decision against a big puncher etc.
But if he beats AJ twice, he might just retire undefeated because he is precious about his 0.

Yes, very likely, provided that he keeps cherry picking opponents and keeps fighting bums.

It all depends on when he retires.
If he beats Joshua, I think he should retire.

I dont see any of the current crop of heavyweights beating him, but that could change if he sticks around too long.

If he remains focused, dedicated and doesn't fight for too long past his best, it's possible, but I suspect he'll either get upset at some point or fights for too long and picks up at least one loss. He is only human and anyone can have an off night or have personal issues that may effect ones performance and nobody beats father time.
