It's to late for Yarde I agree, as I said in my previous post he was groomed by Tunde and his magic boxing system nonsense from the beginning.

That's a really good point, the lack of an amateur pedigree and the lack of those experiences are a problem.

And maybe I've placed too much on Tundes shoulders, but it was a terrible corner performance from him but we have to look at Yarde also.

He really didn't know what to do, he had no idea how to get past a jab, he seemed a little lost at times and look shocked.. maybe with a deeper amateur background and more amateur experience he could have drawn on that to do something last night.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but Yarde doesn't spar much? Tunde believes it's damaging?

So we may have to look at the sparring or lack of it, because it wouldn't have to be full on, heavy sparring, they can be technical spars but Yarde needs to spar, he needs to learn a few things and so that is up to him to insist he spars often and against good, experienced partners.

No real sparring has to be the dumbest thing ever doesn't it?

You could ask Tunde to name the top 10 fighters of all time and ask him to explain why he believes that and then ask him a simple question. Did they spar?

Sparring seems to be good enough for everyone else yet Tunde thinks Yarde doesn't need it. Truly arrogance beyond belief.

I look at what Sims has done for Conor Benn and think he’d be a good match for Yarde. Can’t see him binning off his cheerleader though. In terms of making some wedge, Yarde has been a success and perhaps he’s happy with that. He had a chance to change his trainer after Kovalev put him on his back, we were all saying it but he’s stuck with him. He’s clearly too comfortable.

That's a great fit, Sims would be perfect.

Only problem is FW wouldn't have it becuase of the Sims/Eddie connection, Eddie is married in to the Sims family.

I can't see old Frank having any of that... Do me a favour, it's all over rover

Would love to see Yarde with Dom Ingle think it would be a very good fit, really don't know why he didn't put it on Arthur earlier when he was clearly trailing the fight it was a baffling performance because it didn't take much to get to Arthur in that last round after fighting at his pace the whole fight

Here I was thinking that Tunde's version of Awaken the Giant within by Tony Robbins and shouting out "LIONS IN THE CAMP" was all you needed to become a champion.

After all why would you need to work on how to get inside a jab or an opponent with a longer reach. Your positive mental mindset will conquer all.

Why do all of these boxers work for weeks on end on how to throw a jab, the various positions/angles and feints . Or how to get inside a jab or a longer reach. When all you need to do is shout lions in the camp and have a positive mindset?

I still can’t understand the no sparring thing. It’s how you learn to judge the distance and timing shots. People’s movement is unpredictable and you can’t create with pad work.

I remember at a gym I was with for a year this guy walking everyday acting like he was the dogs and doing all this flashy mayweather pad work. Eventually some boys came down from another gym to spar, and gave flashy bollocks a good hiding. The bloke wasn’t anything special but you could tell he knew what he was doing and just walked him on to shots

If this is the same guy, where in his record are security guards and taxi drivers from these countries?

2nd fight vs 3–10-2 guy? Won on points. Okey, maybe better they had booked for him local journeyman for 2 nd pro fight to learn.
What stuff does means " euro bum "?
Really WBO now does have in their rankings as #15 someone that is #782 in boxrec in the same day?
Okey, there is this year fight vs a 4-48-3 journeyman.:D

The WBO have people appear in their top 15 from nowhere whove got ridiculous padded records. Baryani or whatever his name is for example. Probably like 18-0 but his opponents are are like 4-15-1. Just padded recorders and very little KO ability.

The writing was on the wall for me when Yarde faced Sjekloca and then Averlant. On paper Sjekloca looks a good win but watch the performance ignore the commentary and it wasn't great. Sjekloca isn't a bad fighter but he had spent most of his career at SM with only 11 KO's and he was able to land his straight a few times a round. The commentators barely mentioned it and and because he's not a puncher Yarde walked through it but Sjekloca was able to fiddle his way through the rounds with some basic movement. Yarde just walked after him and eventually got him out of there in 5 but learnt nothing - his next fight was against Averlant another non puncher who didn't have a great record.
He went in with no learning fights straight into Kovalev - madness. At least fight some faded fighters who have done a bit of the weight. Who know how to survive and have a few old man tricks. As the world and is wife have seen, he has no fundamentals, he can't deal with a jab, his defence has holes in it and other than having a decent dig there's not much to him. He's not a young kid either. He can rebuild and beating AA in a rematch isn't totally out the question but he needs to fire Tunde and work on his fundamentals.

Guys, It is no shame to loss fight vs Kovalev. Boxe is fighting and one lad is winner not both. Props to him that he lasted so long vs Kovalev.
Another question why he recently needed a journeyman with bad record?
    28 y.o dude with 18-1-0 record vs 35 y.o journeyman 4–48–3 record.

The fight in a Madrid nightclub was for his WBO ranking I believe, fighting a middleweight journeyman on short notice, classic WBO.
