Mike Tyson 1988 vs 1982 Gerry Cooney, 15 Rounds. Would Mike easily stop Gerry? Or would Cooney just hanng around to last the distance?

Tyson KO in 1-3. Probably 1.

Tyson rolls through Cooney, who's lucky to make it to the midway point of the fight.

Given the power that Mike Tyson had, his defense, and combinations, Tyson comes out ready to maim Gerry Cooney. Mike ends it in round 2, Cooney does not even have a chance to throw a meaningful blow. Tyson by KO 2.

Cooney simply did not have the chin to withstand that power, so no matter how long it lasts, Tyson gets him.

Actually a great fun fight that Cooney has no chance to win. Mikes chin was too good and Cooney’s was not. Cooney could land some bombs that might stun Mike but he fires back and Cooney can’t recover. An action packed 2 round fight

Cooney's only chance is to try & end the fight sooner rather than later, which would result in Cooney being K.O'd in 2.

Tyson wins and most likely sooner rather than later. But I don’t think it necessarily HAS to be an easy fight. Tyrell Biggs and no chin and no power and even he went 7 rounds with a peak Tyson

Because Biggs actually was a mover with a good jab and a good Ring IQ but he fought to survive very quickly plus Tyson claimed he carried him because of his pre fight foul mouth and wanted to beat him down......."He was making woman noises"

Cooney really does not set up his heavy cannons with a jab, he hooks instead plus he stands his grounds and is going to fight fire with fire.....trading with Tyson is absolute suicide......Tyson within 3.

Biggs didn’t have a good ring IQ. He was making the same mistakes ten years into the pros that he made in the amateurs. He was very easy to hit and didn’t set down on his punches. Cooney wasn’t just some thug who “ traded” with people. He actually had pretty good footwork and a decent jab and could box a bit when he had too. He also had a punch that would put a man through a brick wall and a lot of height and reach. But I agree Tyson would win. I just don’t see a first round knockout like so many might predict when in fact most of Tyson’s victims went well beyond the first including some mediocre ones

The contest wouldn't go 5 rounds , never mind 15. . Tyson wins via creaming

Tyson sometimes gets overrated but there are some pretty good fighters in history that for style reasons I give zero chance of beating him. Tom Morrison and Cooney are examples of them
